UU Wilko summer radiance body exfoliator- WIBA no its not very scrubby...onto flake awayDebt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -
Kaz - my hair is very similar to KK's do too, very easy and quick to dry, I didn't read the article, did the press not like her hair? I think it's the best look she's had. Wasn't keen on Fearne's style, bit too done for my liking.
Charlie - hope you are OK. Do you think your OH could be trying to make you break up with him??
Off to Boots now to return something, will try not to give in to temptation, wish me luck:DThe devil makes works for idle hands0 -
Charlie I'm really sorry to hear about your situation
So hugest hugs to you.
Reading about everyone's DDs I see a few things in my niece too. Luckily, sister1 really puts her foot down when she tries to push something (she's 12). But I really do sympathise with you all. As for me, I was a tomboy and still do live in my jeans and tops. I own one skirt which I've worn once since I bought it on sister2's insistence about 4 years ago.
A quick update on my situation, after emailing him (yes I shouldn't but I did and kept doing so) I got an email early this morning, telling me the marriage prayers have been done. Didn't want to hurt me so didn't reply. I personally don't see the logic. But now I have no hope either. So I've tried emailing him saying I would like to at least say goodbye on a video call (he's in Canada at the moment), so I feel pretty s**t today to be quite honest. Him being a total *bleep bleep* hasn't replied. Then again, he's 7 hours behind. And the stupid thing is me. I still love himI've never ever allowed myself to get close to somebody before for fear of being hurt. But he was just so perfect for me - in every way. I miss him immensly. I've come across lots of guys, but none like him. Stupid parents. Good thing I can't see them face-to-face. They'd really regret their decision by the time I would be done with them:mad::mad::mad:
I hate being upset on a workday, I feel like the tears are going to pour out any moment
Sorry guys
The car with the fuel leak she didn't take it with the kids luckily, but she got someone to collect it the next day, and they drove it away despite our advice to tow it.
UUs
Lush Cinders ballistic: WIBA? Maybe when it's next available at Christmas
Lush Big Blue ballistic: WIBA? I have one in stash but don't like seeing the seaweed floating around, though my skin felt very soft
Elemis Apricot toner: WIBA? Not sure, it seemed to last forever, going with the matching size Elemis cleanser, and almost a full bottle of Bliss cleanser, but I was very liberal with application in the end.
Binned
Lush Vitamin C Toner Tabs (x2): I put one in water in a spray bottle to use as toner after the Elemis one finished, but it smelt vile. I did give it a couple of days, but still smelt awful (not to say the bottle's spray head didn't work so was pouring). Guessed the other one would be the same as they were in the same packet from some time last year, so one poured away and the other binned. No buying unnecessary toiletries/makeup in May: Unnecessary spend £17.60

I had a haircut yesterday as well. I do go every 5 weeks though - go to a cheap and cheerful hairdresser near me. Am always pleased with the cut so it suits me fine. Do need to get a root top up kit though as my next appointment is for colour and I can't wait that long.
Has everybody resisted the Nails Inc TSV so far? It doesn't do anything for me as I think the brand is not so great. I've also read that there will be freebie bottles on Instyle mag this month as well so may be worth looking out for those. I know there are three colours to choose from - from memory I think they are greige, orange and teal. I'm gonna be really good though and not even get any of these as, with the exception of teal which I don't like in a nail lacquer, I own variations of the other two colours. Painted my nails yesterday and am wearing OPI Bullish on OPI which is a gorgeous tomato red colour.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Awww Sawan hugs to you too - I would say though that in spite of his gutlessness when it came to going through with the arranged marriage, it does seem that he is behaving in a fairly gentlemanly way now - as least he isn't leading you on or making you think that things could end up being different. I'm afraid I think that, hard as it is now, you have to give yourself a bloomin' big hug and move on. Email him one last time - tell him that he has hurt and upset you deeply, but that you respect his reasons for not keeping in touch, you wish him all the best for the future, and that should he ever need a friend he knows where to find you (assuming you feel this way) then try to close the chapter. You have then walked away with your dignity firmly intact, and if he is any sort of a man at all he will be suffering from a very guilty conscience by the time he's finished reading. I wish you luck with it though - it must be incredibly hard.
Charlie hope things are looking / feeling a bit brighter this morning. Please let us know you are OK even if you don't want to say any more.
Two UU's to declare pre-holiday this morning, and two splutterers. Also one NPI....
UU's:
Umberto Giannini Dazzling Shine gloss mist - mini. WIBA? Yes - if it is still available I probably would - made my hair not only very shiny after straightening, but even left it feeling smoother, so quite impressed.
Clinique Mascara - a volumising one - mini. This is the one I said I was going to ditch before holiday - it's been open a while and I wasn't that impressed anyway. WIBA? - no. I've used far better.
I have a JF BB Shine Shock to continue using, and have got out a No7 natural Definition Mascara which I am hoping might be a little like Clinique's naturally Glossy...
Splutterers:
BS Moringa Shower gel will go the first time I shower once we're back from hols, and my Nicky Clarke heat defence spray now has to be held very upright or it won't spray.
NPI: In Wilkos of all places I spotted that their own brand (I assume?) range of makeup has the most stunning peacock blue/green nail varnish - you know that colour I've been hankering after?! At 97p though I will probably treat myself once I'm back at some stage.
I'll have one free in whilst we are away as there should be a free hair colour coming with my Avon order which Mum is going to sort for me as she is going to be here anyway cat-sitting.
Right - I may well pop back in later on but in case I don't get the chance I'll wish all you lovely ladies a very happy Easter - Kaz have a fab birthday (and anyone else who has b'days while I'm gone!) and I'll "see" you all in a couple of weeks. No buying grabbits while I'm gone, you hear?!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

*hugs* for sawan and Charlie. I have no sensible advice but I hope you're both OK.
One OUT for me last night - Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes. WBA as they're effective at getting rid of make-up/general dirt before going out or when you come in late and just want to fall into bed, but I've got another packet in the stash so don't need to buy any more just yet.
I think I'm getting too involved in this using up toiletries lark though, I had a dream last night where I was in the Body Shop and there were big signs up everywhere announcing that they were discontinuing the Sweet Lemon scent so I went into a bit of a 'must buy now' panic! This thread is obviously a good influence on me though as I can't actually remember buying anything in the dream
On the topic of ballistics, for those who don't like the 'bits' in some of them, I found it useful to get a pair of old/cheap tights, cut the foot off one of them, stick the ballistic in the foot and then tie it up tightly before you throw it in the bath. The colour still gets through the fibres but the bits stay in the foot."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
Oh (((sawan))) have a hug- a great big squishy one for when you're doing the proper snot pouring howling
What a schmuck. How awful that the views of his parents have destroyed 3 young lives too. It just seems so wrong. It would be understandable if he hadn't already been in a relationship but he was. GAH!
Thanks for the sympathy re. DD guys. I am trying to balance out the view of too much flesh on show with allowing her to dress fashionably. When I was a teenager we all wore incredibly short skirts BUT we all wore them with really really thick tights. We also wore vest tshirts with great big lumberjack shirts or denim shirts over the top. So yes revealing clothes but only underneath/ on top other clothes so no actual flesh displayed.
The main skirt which is an issue is like all of her old ones which she grew out of but it's just too short. MiL took her shopping for her birthday and wasn't happy with it but let her get it and then when it was opened she said to us "I think it's too short- see what you think and return it" so DD got up the next day, ripped off the tags and wore it. I'm cross with MiL for buying it and DH for saying I couldn't get rid of it when she took the tags off.
I've told her I'm getting rid of it now. I will be her personal dresser which means she can't chose what to wear without adult supervision. Poor DH doesn't understand that there's nothing wrong with the clothes she has, just the combinations she chooses so he needs to be educated too. Oh it's so much fun being the Mum of girls isn't it?!

Sawan, just wanted to add some hugs for you. :grouphug:
I can't imagine being in that situation and it must be so tough, I think you're handling it so well. Some good advice above and not sure I can add anything useful, so I won't try!
Charlie - I second the above, please do drop us a quick note if nothing else to let us know you're ok. xx
Well, off to attempt to do some work, but will no doubt pop by later! x0 -
