Mingle, I'm not technically a mechanic, but learnt a lot in 7 years.. and still learning! I'm mainly office/parts/customer based, but can do diagnostics and A/C re-gassing  Always make sure there's enough (not too much) oil in the car, and water/coolant is ok. Puntos are known for headgasket problems
But if it's that the oil is just really dirty from not being changed, ask your uncle to put a good quality engine flush in it. That will help clear it out. So flush in, run car to warm up, change oil & filter. Then as EH said, another oil & filter change a month or two later (maybe another flush) to get all the carp out.
I remember one customer, would always neglect her car, once she brought it in as the 'brakes were a bit noisy and taking a bit longer to stop'. OMG. I have never seen before, or since, pads like that. There was nothing left on them!
You think you'd accept potential problems, but apparently not. I had to explain to one lady that the car might be only three years old, but it had done x miles, and tyres wore when in contact with the road. It only failed on one tyre, but she really kicked up a fuss. It's like talking to a brick wall half the time, saying the same thing over and over, showing it to them, explaining, but everyone thinks every garage is a rip-off, so I try to persevere & keep calm. Got nothing to fear if you're honest as I say.

Just got back from Kwik Fit- £80 for new shoes and a generally clean up and my word... THE CAR STOPS! AMAZING! Now back to the garage at 7am:eek: for the welding, then to uni, then back to the garage for the retest. Thanks for the advice RE the oil. I do regularly check it all, including my tyres because of the style of driving I do (up and down motorways). I'm glad I was told about the filter now rather than it all blowing up on the motorway!
UU: corsodyl mouthwash- a prescription from the dentist 4 years ago (they gave me 10 bottles, finished the last one) WIBA- no, stains the teeth! I'm not using one from wilkos, cheap and cheerful at 46p (i think)
Throw away: Virgin Vie mascara. Only had it open about 10 days before all of a sudden it burnt my eyes! I'd bought it ages ago but not opened it (I'm quite good at storing things)

Afternoon all!
Hope everyone is well and had a lovely weekend! I have lots of UUs / Throw Outs to report so this might be a longish post - apologies!
UUs
Issey Miyake Perfume - WBA as I love the smell of this however I am making myself use one perfume at a time to get my stash down. I really want to be in a position that I have maybe 3 or 4 favourites instead of 20 odd bottles that have been opened for years.
L'eau D'issey Body Lotion (miniature) - probably WBA if I bought the perfume as I found layering made the scent last far longer.
Carmex Original Lip Balm - WBA as this is my HG of lip balms. Absolutely can't do without it. No need to buy at the minute as I have another 2 in my stash!
Hotel Soap - WNBA but glad to use it up. Have another 10 to go unfortunately but they are only lasting a couple of days at a time when used with my exfoliating gloves so I'll get there.
Boots Aromatics Lavendar Bath Crystals - WNBA as they were nothing special and the bits of lavendar floating in the bath water were more of an irritant than a relaxant!
Olay Self Heating Exfoliant - Probably WNBA as there are far nicer products out there. Had one more in my stash so have moved onto that to get rid of it. The one I'm on now must be years old though as it doesn't seem to be heating up on my skin.
Vaseline Intensive Care Body Lotion - This was years and years old but have managed to use it up on my feet which are looking far better for the attention! WNBA as there are nicer scented lotions out there.
Neutrogena Pure Glow Cleansing Cushions - Again, these were years old and partly used so didn't take long to use up. WNBA as they were nothing special and I prefer a hot cloth cleanser.
Sanex Dermo Moisturising Shower Gel - WNBA although it does the job well it's hardly a pleasure to use. Have another of these in the stash that I have moved on to already to make way for nicer products.
Garnier Fructis Deep Fortifying Treatment - WNBA as I felt it didn't do much for my hair. I have now moved onto a Charles Worthington Minerals Hair Mask which is far nicer!
Avon Skin So Soft Moisturising Dry Oil Body Spray - WNBA as it made such a mess of the bath and shower leaving everything really slippery much to my OH's annoyance! I'd had this for years but surprisingly it had maintained it's scent so persisted in using it up.
Throw Outs
Avon Little Black Dress Body Oil Spray - WNBA. This was similar to the Avon Skin So Soft above however it had lost it's scent so thought there was no point in persevering with it.
Yardley Lavender Rebalancing Bath Oil - WNBA as I really don't enjoy lying in a film of oil and I can't be doing with the mess it leaves around the bath. It was also years old, opened and half used so in my ruthless frame of mind it got ditched!
Charles Worthington Relax and Unwind Straightening Balm (miniature) - WNBA as this was too heavy for my fine hair. Thrown out as it had been open so long it had gone all gungy and thick around the pump dispenser.
Maybelline Falsies Mascara - WNBA. This was absolutely rubbish and left big thick clumps no matter how carefully I applied it. Annoying, as it was only bought a few months ago. I have plenty of mascaras in my stash though so no need to buy another.
And that's everything! I am getting through the UUs at a fantastic rate at the minute but I am cheating a little and focusing on everything that has already been opened. Also, I am using facial exfoliators as body scrubs to get rid of those that aren't my favourites and am being very liberal in my applications of everything. None of which is very MSE but my skin is loving having all this attention lavished on it!
Can't believe I have no INs to report either! I'm feeling ever so slightly smug!
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day!

Hello lovely ladies!
My Dissertation is in!!!!!
Started on it at around 6 last night, figured it wouldn't take more than a couple of hours to finish it off....I finally stopped at 1am  Its in now though so Im not even going to think about it. We all went out for lunch this afternoon at a posh place (but cheap at lunchtime) which was nice, arranged times to meet, 3 times for revision sessions together before our exams, and booked a table for actual 'last' day together after our final exam - lecturers are coming too so it should be a bit of fun...
I think Im going to have a well deserved long shower and have a rest now
Just had emails from Alba saying my payment is on its way :j extra £15 to add to the pot - is anyone else on here testing for Alba?
This month I had facial wipes, they are actually pretty good, clean the makeup off good and they are really soft but they don't smell great, which I made a point of on the survey be interesting to find out what they are/who they are made by - does anyone know if we get told?
I really like the 99p olay ones I had (which actually is my only UU) this week - although I admit the last 4 were used up on my bedroom wall (get the mould off) rather than on my face but they were really good, the cheapy ones I bought (3 for £1) just make my face really dry...
Oh and also.....I have an email from that job offering it to me, nothing about me even not accepting it haha they just say I start tomorrow at 8.45 - on that note I was telling the girls about it and one of the older ones, well her mum worked for the boss as a housecleaner, well anyway if I wasn't already going to turn it down, I would be now....MFW 2020 #111 Offset Balance £69,394.80/ £69,595.11

Funnily enough you guys talking about dinner parties, I caught a bit of Come Dine with me over the weekend - how funny is that! So who do we have so far, Vivh, Jeremy (philanderer) Clarkson - and who else...hmm...will have to ponder that one..!
One IN - boyf came back with a Helly Kitty Cherry Body butter for me from £1land, bless him!! He opened it and started playing with it!! I was about to tell him that it had to wait its turn and then stopped myself - ah, he was happy LOL!
i suppose it depends how you use your scrub. I use mine in the shower just on my arms and legs, then I rinse it off but obviously i need to use shower gel everywhere else. Also I don't think a scrub cleans you it just exfoliates unless it is a foaming one.The devil makes works for idle hands0 -
Rosemary – I’m so sad for you, ~I know just how you feel. I lost my lovely Maddy last year. I was in a terrible state for weeks. Eventually decided to call a cat rescue centre for Persians and after ‘bugging’ the lady 3 days on the trot with various questions she called me to say she had an ‘Angel’ on its way from Newcastle. That little girl has had her paws under my table for a year now and I love her to bits. She will never replace Madds in my heart, but she makes me realize that life does indeed go on – especially at 4am when she decides it’s time for us both to play. i know how hard it is - I'm thinking of you all.
Charlie - doesn't it feel good when 'it's in'??? Glad to hear it's all done. Relax and enjoy the day.
Valm -Was very good last night and was not tempted to buy the Elemis One Time Only on QVC. It was a fab price as you were paying for one and a half tubs of Pro Collagen Marine Cream (have one on the go and two in stash) and the Oxygenating Night Cream (which I've tried once and is lush) and then getting smaller sizes of cleanser, exfoliator and mask for free. It was on four easy pays as well but the thing is I can't really afford it. Once upon a time I wouldn't have cared if I could or not
Another 2 UU this morning - SBC collagen gell and Molton Brown shower gell - 'vitamin A&E' I think, thrown it away now and forgot to look. Another £2 in my pot for those.
WNB more shower gell untill have used those in my 'collection'
The next 1litre bottle of collagen gell is already in the bathroom!!

ARGH! My shower's broken! No UU for me for a while then! Also, if you see me in the street do not come near me, i'll probably pong unless I master what my friends lovingly call "the !!!!!'s wash" (face, armpits and....)
or is it cheeky to just use the showers at the gym and not work out?0 -

For cleaning mould etc - invest in a pack of 72 fragrance-free baby wipes from Morrisons - they only cost 18p each and they're ideal for those little jobs around the house. I use them a lot for cleaning the rabbits bottoms!!!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
Ladies,
I'm after some tweezers. I have some RED ones which aren't that great. And the really lovely RED ones I've got can't be found anywhere. Any recommendations? Willing to spend about £10 (£15 max if they're awesome)
