no luck for me on the dissertation front, ran out of time before my interview. Just at the bus stop waiting to go home. God the job is awful and oh will go mad when i tell him the hours. I dont want to take it honest to god no. 55 hour week pretty much only sundays off and its only 11k oh and also they basically force you to work overtime. I know im going to have to suck it up and accept if they offer it because i cant afford not to but i already feel misreable about the whole thing :(

Charlie - question - Just how much will you end up disliking yourself if you take this job? Don't do it - it honestly isn't worth it, you'd have more feeling of self-worth flipping burgers somewhere.

my beautiful Bumble, doing what she loved...sitting in boxes:)

hope you can all see her photo

Rosemary what a lovely cat. Ours like boxes too, and if she sees a bucket standing upright she has to pull it over in case there's something interesting inside! She also drinks water from the watering can by sticking her paw in and then licking it! :rotfl:

My newly applied mascara is running after reading Rainbow Bridge.

I lost my second labrador last January and decided to read Marley & Me immediately after. It took me 24 hours to read it and I spent weeks wandering about crying. We really go into mourning in this house, me and DH anyway, kids seem to bounce back very quickly. For us the best thing was to get another dog, (we always have labs) and last April we did, now when Alfie does something that the others did it gives us happy memories.

On a lighter note, just opened a little bottle of M&S Per una EDT and it is gorgeous, reminds me of something else but can't put my finger on it. Really lovely though and compared to most perfumes very reasonable.

I watched superscrimpers last night, all seems a bit rushed I think. I used to like a programme a few years back with an american called Alvin Hall, he focused on one family and it went into everything that they spent, he was really jolly too. I'm glad I'm not going round to Lady whatshername's house for tea, half a pound of porridge oats in your cottage pie, a few breadcrumbs does the trick and you don't even notice them.

Sorry if that poem was a bit too sad - it still makes me well up and I've read it loads of times.....

I used to LOVE that Alvin Hall programme - I've got one of his books (from the car boot of course) and that is great too - would highly recommend. Missed Super scrimpers but too be honest wasn't that enthralled by it either.

See, herein lies my problem - I now want to pop to Poundland to get one to test! must resist... :rotfl::rotfl:

What a beautiful statement, and so definitely true.

Right then, so last night I took all my toiletries out of the boxes I'd used to stash them away so I wouldn't feel claustrophobic with all the mess in the bathroom, and put them back out on the shelves, the side of the bath, the floor - anywhere that there was room really!:rotfl: My thinking being that I was having a bit of 'out of sight, out of mind' psychology and by being reminded of actually how much I have daily, I'll be less inclined to 'treat' myself to new ones - especially having found some lovely stuff that I'd almost forgotten I had!!

Hilariously, my boyfriend saw it all and told me it was 'photo-worthy'!!!:D:D:D And he doesn't even know about this thread and the photos of lovely stashes you all have!!!! made me giggle anway!

So, have sorted them into some semblance of order - nice treats in one row, everyday use in another, splutterers to the front to use up. I'll have another browse through tonight to see if there's anything further to get rid of - I'm certain there is more stuff I'll just not use and so can donate to Give and Makeup - still got a growing box that I'll drop round to them soon.

Either tha or I'll get fed up very soon and box it all up again! :rotfl:

    This is GENIUS!!!

OMG, it's arrived. Boots have a beautiful shelf full of CHAMPNEYS, lots of things I've never seen before too. It's right next to the sanctuary stuff. No offers on it though. Aaaanyway I have made a purchase, really wanted to try the oriental stuff and the bubble bath was £12 but they did round boxes with 50ml sizes of bubble bath, body wash, scrub and cream for £12 so I got that, it seemed better than just having bubble bath or the alternative was to buy full sizes of the complete range. The box is nice for use after too.

They also had a big, new display of Burts Bees, lots and lots of stuff, don't know why they have kept so quiet about it though.

Also bought S&F Facial wash, fab pore facial peel, some pantene mousse and a mini aussie shampoo. I had a £5 voucher for the last two items though.

Also went to Home Bargains and got Gum shampoo and conditioner and a £2 swarpkoff (sp?) hair colour. I have been so bad.

OMG OMG OMG!!!!! So excited!!!!! Must not buy (yet) - Champneys body butter is just the most lovelyiest ever!!! I love putting it on before bed then the next night my sheets and nightie all still smell of it!

Nodded my way through LOADS of the posts on here as I agreed so much with all the comments:

Rosemary - what a darling lovely cat.
Charlie - argh job sounds scary, you would be better off doing telemarket research, I did that for a while.
MCCulloch - good link - I love Simons cat, Fly Guy in my favourite.

Had the day off today, it was nice. Went tescos, but only cos it is right next door to the doctors where I had an appointment - would have gone Lilds otherwise - none of this DTD malarky for me. Just stuck to my list. Found the toiletries mark down section (never seen that before), browsed and then walked away :T

Finally got my hair cut - wet cut for a tenner, can't argue with that!
No UUs but my E45 nearly run out - obviously I already have another one in waiting!!

Wrote a massive TO DO list for this afternoon, stepped over it and got my deckchair and book out!!
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!
  • Ahh I'm thinking of you, Rosemary. One of our dogs (we live in a small cul de sac and used to have wasteland opposite which she played on by herself) about 17 years ago was ran over and left, I just can't get over that people can just do that.

One UU: S&G mini righteous body butter, WBA.

Saw Sainsburys new range, to replace Champneys but walked on by. Had a NPI in Tesco with some Dove handcream for 99p but I have some Olay and S&G to use first and I hardly use it still. Do you think it would be okay to use on feet as I want to get them sorted for this sun :D

Going to go and shop in my stash. I have lots to choose from!

Haven't posted for a while as I've had no UUs. Finally got one today after finishing off my bottle of Boots No 7 eye make-up remover. WIBA? No. Too expensive, makes my eyes feel horribly greasy until I wash it off, and I've been alternating it with cheaper products that do much the same job.

has anyone found the Tesco DTD thing not working right at the moment, it very cleverly says everything that is cheaper at ASDA is not comparable on my shops, one of my reciepts only had one comparable item out of the entire shop...

I got a DTD voucher for £20 sent this morning, so seems to be ok. There were no toiletries included though ;)

    A couple of INS today....

Pot of vaseline - bought to replace the one that smelt off! That's now been chucked out.

Mitchum Waterlily spray - thought I needed something a little stronger now the warmer weather is here :D
