Darn it! It did yes, passenger side, just in front of the back wheel arch. It's an 11 year old punto, I don't know why i'm so upset about it! It's just come at a really crappy time I guess. My brakes are also shot so they need looking at plus a colossal oil leak. Still, as my mommy says: "You have to have a bad day to know what a good one feels like"

Most cars tend rust from the sills. That's one thing I hate, telling somebody their car's failed the MOT. Most are understanding, but some are so aggressive it's frightening :(

Where's the oil leaking from? (It's scary how sometimes the maths geek in me comes out and how sometimes the car fanatic does :o - the makeup part of me is always there though :p)

But you'd all be proud of me, I resisted today's Nails Inc offers. The two sets of four I have most of the colours, but the set of five I have none, and though I reallllly wanted, I didn't give in and buy *phew*

Hope you're feeling ok Rosemary.

Don't stress Charlie. Are you on track to hand the dissertation in today?

ETA: The Elemis toner has now got the spray head removed, so I can pour it onto cotton wool to apply liberally to my face. And it's still going :(

Oh, I did also pick up a couple of samples of Anew Reversalist eye cream as I don't have any eye cream in my stash apart from the one I'm using so need to try and find another one. The only thing is one half is illuminating veil and the other is eye cream so not sure how I'm supposed to use it.

I think you're supposed to use one bit under your eye and the other on your eyelid .... but I could be wrong :p

Back from my Mum's and thoroughly exhausted - just popped into to see how rosemary was doing - {hugs} and how charlie's interview went (they sound awful but a jobs a job and if you know it's just a job and not a career you should be able to cope - for a little while)

has anyone heard from Roshy?

off for another lie-down :( and I will be ignoring the email I just got from BS telling me about the free delivery today :p

Will catch up with my IN's later :o

Hi VALM - QVC really changed (for the worse) the way I see brands etc the way they say the high street sells rubbish and premium brands are everything -I don't believe the hype anymore and when I have used up my stash I will enjoy trying out alot of the recommendations on here and shopping on the high street. Today I went shopping with a friend and we were at the Clinique counter and some of the products say things like "age spot corrector" or "UV damage corrector" -I think they don't really do that and I don't think a cream could reverse the effects of UV damage.

I know what you mean. When Elemis released the new PCMC lip and eye cream I went to JL to sample it and the SA kept going on about how it "plumps the skin from within". So I said I used to us the previous eye cream what makes this one more special? I got a blank look then and she asked me point blank if I was going to buy it or not!

I have been suckered in by QVC so many times with their spiel. The worst was probably Gatineau Floracil which they all swear by and didn't remove any makeup whatseover off my skin yet L'oreals for £2.00 a bottle does the job.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I'm now moving on to a No. 7 Blissful Body Wash (must hide it from Kaz though!).
Mmmm, I love this stuff!
@Pudsey, I don't know how this managed to last so long?! I was well impressed though at how little you actually do need on the shower puff. If you have a good quality shower puff, you probably only need 2-3 mls to cover your entire body with lovely suds. It's nice and moisturising too.
Looking forward to cracking open the No7 body butter tonight.
My goodness, I was tired this morning after being up for 24hrs. We had a busy old night in the end too, my colleague said it was my fault as I tend to just look at people and 'know' that it's time. At least I can get a good long sleep tomorrow after work. DD's been home today so got her to tidy her room this morning while I slept. Why is it though that kids tidying equates to my wash basket overflowing?:rotfl:

OMG, it's arrived. Boots have a beautiful shelf full of CHAMPNEYS, lots of things I've never seen before too. It's right next to the sanctuary stuff. No offers on it though. Aaaanyway I have made a purchase, really wanted to try the oriental stuff and the bubble bath was £12 but they did round boxes with 50ml sizes of bubble bath, body wash, scrub and cream for £12 so I got that, it seemed better than just having bubble bath or the alternative was to buy full sizes of the complete range. The box is nice for use after too.

They also had a big, new display of Burts Bees, lots and lots of stuff, don't know why they have kept so quiet about it though.

Also bought S&F Facial wash, fab pore facial peel, some pantene mousse and a mini aussie shampoo. I had a £5 voucher for the last two items though.

Also went to Home Bargains and got Gum shampoo and conditioner and a £2 swarpkoff (sp?) hair colour. I have been so bad.

no luck for me on the dissertation front, ran out of time before my interview. Just at the bus stop waiting to go home. God the job is awful and oh will go mad when i tell him the hours. I dont want to take it honest to god no. 55 hour week pretty much only sundays off and its only 11k oh and also they basically force you to work overtime. I know im going to have to suck it up and accept if they offer it because i cant afford not to but i already feel misreable about the whole thing :(

Oh charlie that's awful. Is there really nothing else you can do? It just seems that you'll be sucked into a horrible job with no time to yourself for a pittance in wages which won't allow you to even escape the awfulness of it by applying elsewhere because you are effectively stuck with only Sundays off.
One of my old students had studied forensic pathology before she trained to be a nurse. She's qualified now and just got a job in Bristol but I think it's very hard for all new graduates, heck no, everyone who is in the job market at the moment.
Unfortunately, recessions like this erode our family life a little more each time. They make the employers want more for their money and people willing to sell their soul in order to put bread on the table. They'll work these awful hours for unscrupulous employers. Then, after a while, all jobs advertised by this firm become along those lines and it's 'tough, that's the way we work'. I do think that society has gone too far expecting 24 hour service and availability. That's fine for non face to face orders which can be collected from the emails in the day time but some people have to actually go and do this job :(

Sorry, totally OT and venty rant.
I despair of what this world's coming to today, I really do.

*hugs* Rosemary, hope you're doing okay. MY beautiful dog died soon after I went to University, I like to think she waited for me to be settled before she left.

Sorry to hear about the job Charlie...it doesn't souns great, but if you can keep reminding yourself it's only temporary then maybe you'll be okay

UU an Asda clear skin face wash today - not bad, would probably buy again, onto a BS tea tree one now.

One little in - pantene smooth and sleek mousse, the one I was using was no good, although I do remember one of my friends saying that she used pantene for ages and when she stopped her hair was awful? Anyone else have any experience of this?

Off to the Hairdressers now, it's his birthday, so have got him a betting voucher so he can have a go on the Grand National!!!
I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around

I totally agree, if I dont get the job then thats OK but its if I do then thats when I get put into such an impossible situation...Ive never worked proper full time before for a start, and when I did, it was a 35 hour week which I did for about 3 months over the summer. This job is 48hours standard before overtime even comes into it, which isn't paid I hasten to add.
The bosses are all related - wonder if you can guess which company Im talking about eh? They sound like C$%^ to put it plainly.
The job is soul destroying and to be honest Im not sure I could lie through my teeth, steal money out of people who have little as it is.
I take the job and I don't have a life, I just exist, but I don't and I sit waiting for however many more months with no money for something else to come up. I loose no matter what I do.
Ive heard nothing but bad things about this company and it makes me feel physically sick (or maybe thats just because Ive not had a chance for lunch today) but from what it sounds like, your not allowed holiday unless booked 3 months in advance, I even read someone got thier pay reduced by £200 just for booking a dentists appointment - wether or not that is true I don't know but that terrifies me....

I wish I could - but I fear Im going to become stuck there forever if I take it

I honestly hope my dislike at the hours was enough to put them off hiring me and I won't be put in this horrible situation but I think they are that desperate for staff they'll take anyone :(
