    Ok ladies...

    fake tan application tips? :p

I have some from gift sets that were in the boots 75% sale, and now that the nicer weather is here I thought I should try it and maybe get it U/U instead of letting it gather dust in my bedroom for eternity. Better now while I can get away with covering up disasters than in August when trousers will be a definite no no (hopefully!) anyway :p

But i've never used fake tan, and I don't want it to go patchy or orange. So what are your tips? :) Please and thank you :D

Yes, and if you use the code SOAP (all caps) at checkout they're only £35! :D Although I can't get it to work, but it's still advertised on the bundle page :)

I think boots are definitely trying to tempt you, eeeevil boots!:rotfl:

*Plans a strike so they tempt me back in such a kind way:rotfl:*

  • Hi everyone!

I have a couple of UU to report:

Boots Horse chestnut conditioner for brown hair WIBA? Not sure, don't think it actually did that much for my hair.

M and S Sweet Fig body lotion (had this for years, literally) WIBA? Yes I would, if they still make it, it smells really good even after all this time.

Happy Weekend everyone! Let's hope it is sunny! :)

    morning!
Firstly apologies for being such a misersable moo the last few weeks - i do appreciate the lovely support from you guys.

Me and OH talked and he says i should turn the job down (actually his words were ruder :p) gave me a huge list of reasons, ranging from the unethicalness of the company to the fact he'll have to do his own washing if im never home haha. He says were not that desperate for cash that i need to sell my soul. He says he will train me up to help him out with his freelance stuff, saves him time but also he says that way i cant feel guilty about using his money as i would have earned it too. In the meantime im just going to be a bit of a housewife and keep applying for jobs lol.

    Have a lovely day!

Edit: you guys picked a horse for today? Its always a tradition in my family that we all pick one - OH has just put £1 e/w on both our horses, if they happen to come in 1-2 we'd make £99, unlikely but anything can happen :p OH's horse won last year, shame he didnt bet on it then because I think the odds were really high...like 200-1

Ive been doing some surveys recently - not doing too bad, theres two which are paying quite well, WHSmiths, made £3 from two surveys and the cashout level is only £4, and Viatic - made £7 so far and cashout at £10....Not exactly enough to pay the bills but a nice little bit of 'pocket money' for me, although OH thinks its a waste of time of course - hes the kind of guy who won't bother looking after his change because its 'just change', not quite as MSE as me...Besides Im taking all the money I can get at the moment its OH's birthday in 2 weeks and I have nothing to give him yet

I think last week I posted a link on here to another thread on the site - Free clothes at American Apparel, any 5 items in the offer and you just pay £4 postage. Well my items came yesterday and what can I say...was very pleased....Got 4 tube skirts in different colours and a T-shirt. The top is nothing Ill wear out but figured it would be good as a night shirt or something to dye my hair in. The skirts though I was very happy with, they are designed that you can wear them as a skirt or a v. short dress. Ill stick to them as skirts, but at 80p an item it was very good value - even cheaper than primark....

Still nothing toiletry related to report though, please don't think Im cured, I can assure you if I had money I would be buying stuff :D

    woohoo!!!! - FINALLY..........

I was only away a week but it's taken me another to catch up on the thread (and I didn't want to post until had) :D

Big hugs etc to all who need them esp Rosemary - I know exactly how you feel (I lurve my puddy cats)

Had several UU whilst away (too many to mention as they were all trial sizes and samples) but wont be buying any in full size (esp the Pantene aqua sh*te - you ladies were sooo right about that!!)

Since coming home I've read a few pages here every night to catch up and slathered myself in Ted B*ker body souffle to try and keep the tan and last night I finished it...the whole humongous tub:j go me ;) now I'm only left with the body spray and I don't tend to use it as even with the body souffle the smell didn't seem to last :o will try and use this up for work instead of my usual perfume (shouldn't take too long if I top up and spray every hour:D)

Have a great weekend ladies but..............stay away from those shops;);) xx

ps. charlie I pm'd you a couple of days ago to include me in this months challenge - hope that was ok as I didn't know how long it would take to catch up? xx

  • Good morning ladies, hope it's nice and sunny where you are!!

3 UU to report for April, it's been a slow month for UU so far.

Boots Expert Heat Protection spray - WBA seemed to do the job, but I have a GHD one that I got with my straighteners to use first. I don't think I liked it when I tried it before but I'll give it another go.

Orlane mattifying day moisturiser - UU on my feet because it had started to smell funny and split, no way I was putting that near my face!

Neutrogena pink grapefruit face wash sachet - seemed OK, didn't dry out my face. Might buy it if I ever UU all my other face washes!!

    Have a nice weekend xx

XOXO from my own experience exfoliating the skin is the key, also followed by body lotion paying attention to drier areas such as knees, elbows, ankles & feet.

Exactly as @debidoodle says, exfoliate skin first. Use very little the first time, that way you can see how the colour develops and then use more the next time if you are happy with it. Is is the Soap and Glory Glow set you have since Christmas. I have 2 unopened :o

@charlie Glad you aren't going for that job, sounds like it would just make everything worse. Did you finish the dissertation? I've not been studying but will revive the study thread next week :)

Lovely You Tube Link - I have never heard of Simon's Cat.

Re Fake Tan I always put fake tan on after a shower, scrub & moisturiser and before I go to sleep as this gives it time to develop and use gloves. You might want to change your bedding to older & darker colour as the colour tranference is . I tend to top up the tan the next day for a deeper colour. Remember to use a body polish each time in the shower once it has been applied that will help maintain your all over colour and prevent build up in certain areas i.e. knees, elbows etc. That way you can top up anytime to keep the colour more intense.

Leave face and hands to the last as you want a lighter touch for this. I use the reminants of the lotion from another area to then apply to these areas rather than a huge dolop for that area. Remember you can always add more but it is a lot harder to take it off.

Also be wary of some whitening toothpastes as it stips the colour if it runs on your hands or up your arms.

Oh and invest in some fake tan remover wipes for emergancy clean ups. Good luck and you will look fab :)
