Neighbour being a pain - dad very depressed

In our old house the neighbour fed the birds and it attracted so many that it got to the point my mum couldn't hang out her washing because the birds would be pooping all over it. Our conservatory got covered in bird poop too. Eventually my parents had enough and got an owl ornament and that was the end of that problem. The birds eventually came back to the neighbours garden but they steered clear of ours.
She may have had her reasons but she could have asked OP's Dad about moving the feed away from her side, it's a perfectly valid request as the birds in his garden seem to affect hers.
I feed the birds all year round and if any of my neighbours came to me with that request I would happily meet it, as I am sure OPs dad would have done.
It's ironic someone who doesn't like birds went out and bought ornaments of them isn't it lol!0 -

Report her anonymously for benefit fraud saying her boyfriend has moved in. she will also be getting council tax benefit. be inventive find ways of giving her grief anonymously. get someone to send this story to the local paper without naming anyone.
find out what really bugs her and expand on it.
you could buy your dad an aviary and birds.
Speak to your dads gp tell him all thats going on. Wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age.
Sometimes age just shows up all by itself
In the end, it's not the years in your life

Dont lower yourselves to your dads neighbours level. It could have all kind of unecessary repercussions. She wont be able to prove who reported her but she will know and sounds like the type who would take revenge. Your mum and dad dont need that kind of grief.0 -

It's not a council house, it's their own house so not sure council would want to know.
I know a few of you have said go and have a quiet word but I really do not think it would work. To be honest I think she would be pleased that it is upsetting dad - that is how nasty she is. I am worried if one of us tried to talk to her it would make her worse because she knows she is getting to him.
She threw her husband out probably a couple of years now (can't remember exactly when) so to bear a grudge this long is pathetic. There have been a couple of incidents - pretty small things so don't want to bother putting on here - and my sister and brother in law have spoken to her a couple of times. Now my brother in law is placid and laid back and I know he would not have been argumentative at all (not that I think my sister would have been!) and she just gave him a load of abuse. He said he could not even talk because she just kept shouting and then she put her fingers in her ears and went "la la la, I'm not listening" - yes how adult she is!
.
so which is it ? you cant have it both ways, either you and your family have tried to talk to her about it or its as your last post and its been a visit "twice in a few years" ? either way its clear she didnt appreciate it.Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -

Yes, some people do exactly that. You go on and ask for advice and get sneered at and disbelieved by some morons. I've had some of that.
If you have bad neighbours they can make your life absolute hell.
And an 80 year old should be allowed to live his life in peace.0 -

Thanks for that - some of the posters on here are as sad as my parents' neighbour! The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0
