You have my sympathy. I had never in my life had heartburn until i was pregnant. Beautiful son is 3 in dec. I had killer, killer heartburn (and still remember it), Gaviscon liquid made me throw up, movolat prescribed by docotor was not much better.
Found that soft chewy heartburn tablets releived it straight away and that
gavilast tablets were fab. (That is when i could get them past the women in the chemist - some refused to sell them to me because i was pregnant, so had to send partner in for them)0 -

Hells Donkeys  I was getting through a litre a week towards the end with DD2. I didn't have a gall bladder by then (means you can't easily digest fat at the best of times) so I was swigging the pink aniseed nectar straight from the bottle. DD2 was a big gorilla of a baby who wouldn't come out so they had unzip me to go in and get herShe was hairy to start with, but her Dad is a human hairball - hair everywhere but his head
I could have sworn DD2 smelled like aniseed balls when she was born.
You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.
Oi you lot - pleaseGIVE BLOOD

The only thing that helped with mine was Gaviscon advanced The GP tried to fob me off with cheaper alternatives but they were never thick enough to stop it. I really sympathise, it's horrible, but don't worry, the pain of labour will make you forget all about it0

Oh i feel for you.
I'm only 25 weeks with no.2 and heartburn is far worse than my daughter. She was a reasonable 9lb 2oz, apparently they just get bigger!!! So this one will be huge, ouch, wish i was booked in for a section.
I've come down with a virus now so can't tell difference between sore throat and really bad heartburn! I throw up anything i take, but i find lying on my left hand side helps.0 -
Tescos own heatburn stuff. Aniseed flavour. I went through bottles but it worked for my last 2 babies. I had terrible heartburn and hairy babies!! Fine dark hair over my sons shoulders for months - a true gorilla. My lastest, daughter, was alos very hairy fine dark hair over the ears and still on the nose in a certain light(she's 1 now!)0

I had really bad heartburn with DD1 who was born with hair long enough to put into a little ponytail and hardly any heartburn with DD2 who was born almost bald. So maybe theres some truth in the theory :rotfl:
I used to swear by Refresher sweets and Sherbet Fountains. The extreme fizzyness of them makes you burp which helps the heartburn. Other than that you have my sympathies and I hope you find a cure for it soon.
Oh I forgot to say Wilkinsons do their own version of Gaviscon for £1.89 a bottle.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
Milk helped when I couldn't get my jumbo sized bottle of Maalox out.
That and avoiding anything greasy or acidic which made it worse.
Eat little but often too, leave a bit more room for the acid to stay down,I think.
Yes,the baby will be born, not removed, it's just coming through a different route, and looking on the bright side you can go wee-wee without screaming the same day:beer: best of luck, C section babies are always gorgeous because they haven't had their faces and head squished.:D

It sounds very odd, but I have found getting on all fours in the night helps the burping....and then I don't feel as bad. We only moved recently and the walls are thin so hope they can't hear the wind........Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0

big bottles of gaviscon on prescription worked for me although it was easier to swig it than use spoon to keep it at bay i lost count how many bottles i went through and had it with both my girls when i first got it i was so scared in agony and had never experienced heartburn ever before! doctor said i could swig it as it wasnt harmful so i never went anywhere without it!! anyway also i drank tonnes of hot chocolate which i loathed before i ever got pregnant but now i still love it too bits! also with first baby i had a mcdonald milkshake everyday it seemed to cool it off as well even though it is like a soft ice cream machine cos of bacteria i dont think youre encouraged to have it! it didnt harm my babies they love a milkshake now!!:rotfl:
good luck and dont worry they are lovely when they have lots of hair my girls were so gorgeous and are still hairy but it makes them cute!:rotfl:0 -
