Which Court ?

  • This is probably a silly question and I have looked at loads of the questions already asked by people, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I'm just about to send the second letter to HSBC advising them that their response to my initial request for repayment of charges was not satisfactory and that I now intend to take them to court.

The final paragraph of the sample letter advises that the name of the court should be added. My question is how do I know which court to add in here?

I'm new to all this, so would be very grateful for any advice provided.

Jules, this silly question is asked at least twice a day so don't worry about it :)

You can either leave that part of out the letter or check the Reclaim Help Thread (link in my signature) for your local court if you don't already know the name of it.
  • That's great. Many thanks.

Is that the Letter before Action..where you have asked once and this is your second time? If so I don't think you need to put anything about a specific court name. If it is your moneyclaim you are starting after the 14 days from the second letter is up, then it is your local county court.
Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:

You do not need to provide this information at all, it's irrelevant to the claim.
    Reclaimed thanks to this site:

  • I issued proceedings against two banks, at Warrington County Court. The notification of service that has been posted out to me says proceedings issued in Northamptonshire County Court? Why would this be? Do I need to get this changed to my local Court? If so, how do I do that and when is it appropriate to do that. The service to the banks takes place on 17 March.

Northampton is the nearest court for MCOL and it will be transferred to your local court should it become necessary.
  • I am sending same letter too, I just put the town I live in.
    Hope this helps
  • New to all this

I have done my letter, sent my cheque, 4 weeks ago.

They have a copy of my letter they told me when I phoned and the original has been sent off but my cheque has not been paid in.

I have not received a reply, bearing in mind I live in germany, would they tell me anything over the phone?

I have written my second letter, or should I wait a little longer?
