what's so wrong with only wearing pants?
ok it may not be the time of year for it, but its not a crime!

It's too cold in March that's what's wrong with it.:p I didn't say it was a crime, I said I'd never seen kids in the street in just their pants, usually they'd be wearing shorts and tshirt or at this time of year trousers and a jumper.

I had a naked one too.. she learned to strip at 14 months.. and refused to wear anything until she went to nursery at 3.5.. and it was only while at nursery.. she once got herself naked strapped in the pushchair.. snowsuit, cardigan, dungarees, tshirt, bodysuit and nappy... she was about 16 months and it was snowing.. she stripped in tesco.. everywhere we went it was a nightmare.. she liked to draw green circles on herself too.. and with biro.. we called her Stig!! She is 8 now and much better thank goodness

It's when she's 15 and still stripping in Tesco you have to worry :D

My daughter is three and plays in the street with her older brothers and other children. It's a quiet cul-de-sac and everyone who lives here knows there are always children running about so they drive carefully in the street. I've always let them play out and all three are lean, fit and very healthy as they are rarely ill.

You don't feel the cold if you're running about outside. I had my coat on when I was standing waiting for nursery coming out this afternoon and felt cold. I've been to an outdoor bootcamp this evening and although I felt cold when I got there, I took my fleece off once I got warmed up and had bare arms.

My daughter is a stripper too and loves running about in the nude, although I wouldn't let her run outside completely naked!
Here I go again on my own....

Nope, i just personally think it means she's on her own doorstep, around family/friends she's comfortable with. You know, depending on which part of the country this little girl was in, it has actually been lovely sunny mild weather over the last couple of weeks (it has been here with me, with the exception of Saturday though).

Exactly what is so wrong about a young child only wearing pants? Assuming she isn't neglected and is warm enough and mum was nearby (none of which has been disproven) would people then have a problem with it?

Yes not being adequately clothed can be one indicator of neglect but people seem to be really hung up on it for reasons beyond this and I am genuinely interested in why this is as I just don't get what is wrong with a child innocently running about in her nics cos she wants to
People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

She obviously wasn't warm enough or she wouldn't have gone back in to put trousers on.;)

maybe she had been warm enough in just her knickers, then went to put her trousers on when she felt a bit cooler - but not cold enough to want a top on ;)?

It has nothing to do with the weather, it's about teaching the child self respect and safety.
There are dirty minded people out there who prey on little children, they need to be taught from a young age to cover up.
It's just about acceptable in their own back gardens, but in the stret NO WAY, it's a disgrace.
