Big hugs and welcomes to all new 2013 brides for the last week! :grouphug:
Well, payday came and I've been busy!
New purchases for the wedding wardrobe:
* 2 x artificial bay trees from Matalan for £20 each - one of the more expensive purchases I've made, but they do look lovely and it costs just as much to hire them
* 2 heart wreaths from Next Home for £5 each, one in white, one lavender. These were sooo cute i had to have them! Was thinking they may make lovely chair ends for the ceremony. They gave me a voucher for £10 off a £15 online spend, so I might get some more one this is ready to go
* Wooden "love" and hearts signs from Next Home for £5 and £8 respectively. Both too gorgeous to say no to!Planning to put these on the guest book table
* From car bootie: 40 x artificial white flower buttonholes for £8. I'm going to use these to decorate the bay trees and elsewhere, as they are a little bit too artificial looking to use (in my opinion) as actual buttonholes. I'm so picky!
* Glass lidded cloche and bottom for £1.50 for sweetie table
* My fav purchase of the week: 56 x Elemis soothing apricot facial wipes in individual sachets for £6! Lovely additions for the ladies favours. Just need to find a male equivalent now!
Oh dear, that's quite a lot in 2 days  Better call it a month :rotfl:Make £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190 -
Wow you certainly are getting on with things rablovesroo! I bet it will all look fab when it comes together.
The only progress on the wedding the front is that DF has a friend who owns a rather nice piano bar and has said he will let us have it for "free" if we want to use it for a reception when we get back from Prague! We'll only have to pay the band and some food and then everyone can pay for their own drinks at the bar.
Still no closer to setting a date. How did you all decide on a date? I kind of want September but my parents got married then and I think it's just a little weird getting married in the same month for some reason. I either want it in December when it's snowing or April or June when it will be nice (but probably more expensive!)

Thank you for the welcome
My Dad used to be a jeweller, hasn't done it as a job for many years but has kept his bench and tools and I know he wishes that he could get back into it, so it's a good opportunity for both of us!
I haven't seen it mentioned in any of the threads that i've read so far, but I highly recommend the Etsy website, there's so much on there, mostly reasonably priced for hand crafted items, and a lot of sellers are happy to take orders for custom items. Plus you can search by colour, so if you have a colour theme then it might be a good place to look0 -

That definitely sounds perfect.
I LOVE Etsy! I thought it was my best kept secret hehe. There are a few people on there that make wedding dresses in the style I want, so if I can't find anything within my budget here, then I will definitely be checking them out. There are lots of other things I've seen too, like Mr and Mrs signs and things like "The Smith Family, Est. 2011" signs that you can put up in your house (I really want one of those for after we get married). If I'm bored I just type in weddings and search through all the listings getting ideas.
Think I need to back away from the computer now!

Hello Ladies,
Congrats newbies
Rablovesroo you are a carboot sale queen! I love it!
I love all the wooden signs too! They are so classy!
My update...I got save the date cards this week, and my mum bought me a wedding planning book which is gorgeous (It's supposed to be from 12 months till the day....but nothing wrong with starting early!! hehe)
I also got very very excited when my mum came to stay with me, she is paying for the alcohol at my reception (as our venue offers a no corkage fee!!!!!!!) and she works at Marks and Spencers! Whilst looking for bucks fizz and general prices out of interest, we found a blackcurrant version of bucks fizz.......and its PURPLE!!! Will match my colour scheme! haha The smallest thingsNow just have to sample a bottle to see what it tastes like!
Hope all the planning is going well for everyone!

Hi we had decided we wanted out of usual wedding months to keep costs down and h2b asked if we could have it on his 30th so we've booked it for 25th May 2013!!
Well my mil has been in to pay the deposit and fil has just called to say he's just called the venue and paid another £400 off which means we only need to pay £1900 for our dream wedding at our venue, which includes canapes,3 course meal, drinks package, great buffet, table centres and decorations, chair covers and hotel rooms the night before!! Ive found my perfect wedding dress custom made for £375 (but if I pay upfront I can do some bartering)! Im so excited! Still seems like its a long time away though!!Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130 -
Hello! :j
Found a great possibility for a caricaturist: £195 all inclusive for 2 hours (approx 40 pics) Grubby Art for the south east. I love the idea of our guests taking home a funny memento of the day, as well as the usual favours, etc. I've never had my caricature done before, it'll probably end up with a huge nose!
Decorated the bay trees with the flowers, I'm really pleased with the result! I'm also going to twist either a string of peach pearls or peach ribbon around the trunks, and maybe paint the pots too to prettify them. So until the big day I guess they'll be bookending the bay window in the 2nd bedroom. Trouble is, my crazy mind now wants another two.. stop me...stop me!! :wall:Make £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190
