Thanks for the tip catewill!
The closest store is in North London, so i may try to trek there after work one day. Shame there isn't one close to home, they sound like good places to get bargains!
I actually woke up this morning with an immediate desire to look on this forum, so am here in my dressing gown, at the same time as watching, yep you guessed it, Bridezillas again on TV! Case of art imitating life, i feelMake £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190 -
Me again!
Our coordinator just sent me floor plans of the entire hotel, all the room numbers and descriptions and mock table plans! Eeeek! Even though it'll be a long while before i can officially start a table plan, i already know it's going to be a royal pain in the backside, as we should be having 70 people at the breakfast, I would like 10 to be at top table and the rest divided into tables of 8, which doesn't really work. Poo
Oh well, I bought the 4th (and final!) martini glass centrepiece from TKMaxx yesterday, I really doubt that guest table numbers will exceed 8, so that's half with the tall centrepiece as I wanted.
Another new crazy ott rablovesroo idea: popping a mini bottle of Molton Brown relaxing yuan zhi sleep mist on the guest bedroom pillows with a little luggage tag note saying "sleep sweet and thanks for staying" or something like that. Ebay do the little bottles for about £3 a piece, so maybe i could collect them in much the same way i have done with the favours.Make £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190 -

*gorgeous silver charms for my keyrings (ladies favours)
*the keyrings
*a wedding planner/organiser
*a job lot of table crystals
*A wooden LOVE sign for the table
*a glass dish for the sweetie table
and I think thats it!!Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130 -
Mmm, that all sounds fab abi! and the wooden love sign, you sound like an MSEr after my own heart!
We'll all have to take piccies of our favours and post them one day, when they're all ready and assembled. It's great that we're all being so creative, I feel like i haven't actually made anything in yearsMake £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190 -

Thanks honey! I was chuffed, the sign was EXACTLY what I wanted for £2.99 from Dunelm Mill, where Ive seen them online for £15-20!!
Im not sure about my ladies favours. I have all the components, just not sure how I put them all together!
We should all definately put pictures up of our handywork!
I think Im going to make a flikr page of all my progress!Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130 -
rablovesroo thats such a good idea with the sleep mist - i was looking at ideas to do for the guests staying overnight - maybe do a little goodie bag with freebies i can hopefully pick up along the way - i did them for all the hens of my best friends wedding last year and they went down a treat.
Im still stuck on what to do next!! - i rejigged my wedding book last night and my budget has come back down again (thanks for me finding a cheaper wedding dress and the church coming in under budget) so OH was pretty pleased about that. Ive just put another load of ebay stuff on so when that sells i can use the money to buy more little bits - i just dont know what little bits to buy lol!!
I might start with the candy buffet bowls etc. whats next on your lists to do??0 -
Hello!!
Sadly didn't find many bargains at the car bootie this week, am hoping that the BH weekend might bring better fare.
Managed to get wedding-related two books: "Shopoholic Ties the Knot" by Sophie Kinsella and "Wedding Babylon: Confessions of a Wedding Planner" by Imogen Edward-Jones for 40p and £1. I started reading the latter when I came home yesterday and read half of it in one sitting, I love it! Some of the (true) stories about nightmare groom speeches and rip-off merchants are fascinating.
Also got 6 assorted sized mirror plates for £2, technically there are for the walls but I'm sure you can't tell!
OH did a lot better than me, got a bass guitar strap which he has been looking for, for what certainly feels like, FOREVER for £4 and i got him for £2 a canvas print of Banksy's Kissing Policeman, coz he's a copper himself! He thought it was hilarious and may take to work and put in his partner's locker:rotfl:
Rubysmummy, I feel a bit at a crossroads too, it's a bit too early for doing certain things, and part of me feels like i should concentrate on one particular area (such as the candy buffet) and finish as much of that as possible first, then start on another area. However, I often get distracted and end up with quantities of everything, but nothing completely finished! Inspiration overload is my main problem...too many beautiful things, not enough cash!
Had an email from the coordinator confirming that me, my mum and sister (chief bridesmaid) have their one triple room booked for dinner, bed and breakfast the morning of the wedding. However, if someone books an exclusive use wedding on the Sat (ours is a Sunday - over £5k cheaper!!) we will be the only strangers there! Awkward!
Just realised that I have an ebay watch list over 5 pages long! I'm not buying all of it, I just like to watch it, most of it is getting relisted anyway so stays put. Same with vistaprint, I am determined to get everything free!
Just also realised that I am the heaviest I have ever weighed in my life, my signature is nonsense: 11st 8lb:(:( Although I'm not exactly a beached whale (or as I prefer to call him, dad
), I'm now worried that the dress I bought a few weeks ago may not even fit! Am too scared to try it again at the mo, I feel a health and fitness regime coming on...the horror...

rablovesroo Ive also read Wedding babylon and finished in in 2 sittings, absolutely hilarious!! Not very good for picking up tips though, most of the stories are the epitomie of my wedding from hell!Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130

Hi everyone! I'm hoping to get married in 2013! Well I will have saved all the money by then! We're looking at getting married in Prague with a budget of about £6k all in! Had a chat with a couple of wedding planners and it's very feasible to do it for well under that price. Have about £300 saved already and I can save about £300 a month from now on. We'll only have to pay £500 deposit for all the prague things and the rest is payable 2 weeks before the wedding. Can't decide if we want a December wedding or a June wedding...have plenty of time to decide though!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170
