    Good afternoon all

    Hugs to all those in need and Hello to the newbies :wave:

    Well Im half way through our month and doing fine so far.. I have discovered a cracking place for fruit n veg whilst out and about -so now when we go for a walk around the lakes on a Saturday we stop off and I go crazy :p this week it was:-
    1. 2 huge pineapples -they weigh 3kg each :eek:
    2. 2 cantaloupe melons
    3. 4 aubergines
    4. 1 huge courgette
    5. 4 big red/yellow peppers
    6. 2 cucumbers
    7. 40 chilis
    8. 2x 500g plum vine tomatoes
    9. big bag onions
    10. big bag red onions
    And it came to just over €10 :j The pineapples are stunning -soooo sweet and have a slight taste of coconut mmmmmmmmm

    Yesterday was my 1 year anniversary of SW so hubby took me out to a lovely Italian -its the first meal we have been out for in well over a year (mainly as I like to cook) -but it was lovely-and I stayed on plan :A:rotfl: and best of all I got all dressed up in a size 16 evening dress (instead of my old 32s :o) -so we have decided that we are going to go out "somewhere" once a month....
    So one year down the line and Im 8st 10.5lbs lighter with under 4st left to go :j ..... obviously it means I have given up on all the home baking -well apart from for hubby :p

    I think we are all set for the next week -the freezers are groaning with meat -so as always the next shop will be for water, milk and salad stuff ;)

    Anyway -enough waffle .... have a lovely day all

    I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this so tell me if it ought to be elsewhere. I just thought it might be useful to someone.

    We just got a couple of Betty Crocker Shake to Make Pancake mixes - they're on the ASDA website reduced from £1.32 to 25p but they come with a peel-off voucher for 30p off. So, assuming that the offer is instore as well, you could just buy one and use the voucher to get another free. Then use that voucher to get another one free ... and another.

    I know it's usually cheaper to just make up your own pancake batter but this stuff is pretty convenient.

    MrsMcawber, I am extremely jealous. That little hawl would have cost £20+ at my greengrocers and wouldn't be that brilliant quality.

    Just spent £28 on bits in Morrisons :eek:

    Congratulations on the bargains and the weight loss Mrs MC...wonderful...nearly worth a cheap flight to bring home that haul at that price!

    My spend for this month is now at €149.52 so its creeping up but got 10 kg of spuds to-day so that might see us through to May

    Good luck to all

    had to post a few parcels so i nipped into te$co's for a loaf (me and kids aren't feeling well and i have to go out for awhile tonight so cba making some) while there i got a bag of pears reduced to 46p which are all eaten already, and 3 packets of reduced mince, not a huge reduction but it's the mince i buy anyway so worth it, which has now been split into 9 portions and is in the freezer, so a £6.09 spend i still need spuds so if i have time i'll grab them today

    dinner is cheese and onion sausage rolls, peas and waffles for the boys, and whatever i can be bothered to make when i get bk for me and oh

  • Oh no, according to my spendometer, I am overspending 16.28 a day:eek:
    How can I stop this!
    However I have been through my bank account and have a fairly good idea of what I spend on food....i was just ignoring it! So I am moving forward... sold stuff at auction, put stuff on ebay, am determined to have at least 2 nsd's this week:(

    Great ideas on here, love my spendometer!
    thanks to all for posting ideas!

    Confused by Tesco:

    Quorn Pieces: 300g @ 3 for £5.00, 500g @ 1 for 2.00, 350g @ 2 for £4.00

    Am I right in my calculation that the 500g pack for £2.00 is the best value. I worked it out at 40p per 100g, rather than well over 50p/100g for the other two?

    Can someone let me know if I've been hopeless with the maths!

    Thanks!

    yeah the 500g one is better value, i worked out how much weight you'd get per £1
    300g= 180g per £1

    500g= 250g per £1

    350g= 175g per £1

    and thats if u take advantage of the multibuy offers

    I was nervously reaching for my trusty calculator when I saw you'd solved it, quintwins! maths is not my very best subject! :D

    Mrs Mc, I'm in awe of what you've achieved with your weight loss! I'm just starting out on my journey and not too far from your starting point. If I have half the success you've had in 12 months I'll be very pleased ;)

    sistercas, hope your back is easier for you very soon

    good vibes to all who need them
    ... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D
