I am back in again this month my budgetted spend is £425 a month, this is for ME, DH, DDs x 2 (8 and 6) and Woof. It includes food, drink, toiletries, cleaning stuff, dog food and prescription/medicine costs.

I need to tighten up as I think I was at least £50 over budget for March and have started on Aprils budget today with a £15 spend in Co-op. Right off to meal plan for the month.

I have decided to change the way i shop and do 1 big shop at Sainsbugs and the rest of the months shop at L!dl, hopefully this will work x

I`ve made a meal planner for the next few days but still need to get around to making a new freezer list - hopefully tomorrow will be the day to get this sorted out.

I haven't done my meal plan yet - cue slapped wrists! This is because of my fridge freezer breaking down so spectacularly last week. So, I'm going to wait til I can turn on the new one (Sat) and then transfer all the stuff from the outside freezer into the new, and make a plan then. Hopefully, we can still be using up stocks during April, and then I'll be able to afford a bit of a shindig for my birthday at the end of the month! The children are away at their dad's until Saturday afternoon, so I'll do it then, and also go to asd@ to do my monthly online shop in person!! I haven't really got any other time to get it done, which is why I'll be doing it like that, and I get twitchy if there isn't a plan!

May investigate the DTD stuff, and do my shop in 2 places, to take advantage...

MrsPauper - welcome, I think you are doing really well - you make so much from scratch and given the problems you must have with buying own brand/cheaper items I think that you do well with your budget, do post your list though as there are lots of people on here far cleverer than me and they will advise you if they see potential savings
