Well, that's my 2nd NSD chalked up for April. 26 days to go, and £27.98 left. If Roger Ramjet can manage a zero spend, surely I must be able to manage this!!

I couldn't be a**ed to do any cooking this evening - we were late back- so the children had chicken nuggets, waffles and baked beans. I started to feel guilty, but then realised that I couldn't actually remember the last time I gave them something like that for dinner. I do make chicken nuggets, but that's from chopped chicken breasts in breadcrumbs, so that's not even in the same league. I relaxed after that! And, it was on the meal list for this month too, so bonus! And, the baked beans were in the fridge needing using up. Do I need any more excuses?!

Realistically, I won't make it now, especially as it's the hols too, and I have to make up a picnic for 7/8 at the end of the month as a welcome back from holiday type thing for my best friend. I do have bread in the freezer, and the ability to make more, and could always cadge milk from work that would otherwise be thrown away, but it's the fruit that'll do it. Although, if I'm careful... I do have some dried mango that I could leave til towards the end of the month, and tinned fruit that I could use, but I really need to have fresh in for the children. Hmm...

Went to A**i for a wee top up shop, veg , long life bagels & Rolls, and a few wee bits n bobs for baking etc spent £9.50.
I'm really pleased I've managed to control my spending, I have other things to occupy me like babysitting and gardening.

We had chow mien made with a DR steak and some diced ham from the freezer, it was absolutely yummy, I posted the recipe a while back. DD2 And DGD 7 1/2 months had dinner with us, it was really nice.

Got a barrage of phone calls on mothers day to tell me my mother had died on the 16th of March!!!! Why didn't they call me to tell me then??? My mother abandoned me as a child and 4 other daughters, so I didn't have any contact with her. I met 3 of my half sisters a long time ago and still have contact with the youngest (she was the only one she kept). She was told her mother didn't want her to know she had died and she wasn't allowed to come to the funeral, the poor lassie is absolutely devastated. I think of all of us she had the worst childhood, poor lass. Anyway I prayed for her poor tormented soul and said my goodby's in private. The funeral is still to take place, don't know when or where. Sad isn't it?

First spend of the month for me last night!! Went to Mr T's as OH wanted to go shopping (normally try to go on my own as I stick to lists and he doesn't :rotfl: ) bu last night it was the other way around :o:eek: Managed to get 3 loaves of branded bread for 10p each so they went straight in the freezer! No other real bargains for me though :(

Anyway, total shop was £45.90, but OH donated £25, I used £11 vouchers so I actually only spent £9.90 :j

Veggie box is coming tomorrow, but this week I have changed it to a Fruit and veg box and only every 2 weeks as I still have loads of veg to use up  This will be slightly more expensive at £24 with 99p del but this may suit us better.... time will tell :rotfl::rotfl:

    Off to update siggy :)

Spent £89.36 at Mr T yesterday for my weekly shop.
It didn't look much in my trolley, but think it should last us the week as I have done my meal plan and have everything I need for the meals.
I suppose I can always make my own bread if we run out.
NSDs are not a problem as I very rarely go to the shops, but I still think we spend too much.

    Morning all
    hi Mothership
So sorry to hear of your bad news. Life is very difficult for some of us. All we can do is do our best for our kids and give them the happy memories that so many children do not have. You like myself are blessed with a family we love and would die for. God bless

Thought today would have been another NSD as tomorrow won't but I fancy a cabbage!!!!!!!!! Cooking bacon and will do onion and cabbage in the wok. Yum...boy I am hungry and have just had porridge at 8 am!!!!

Hope all in a good positive mood for the day.
