Have you been peeking in my kitchen today? ;) D11yo made some crumblies, but he used minced meat instead (seasonal thing  ) Our chicken went down a storm today, it's ages since we had a 'real' roast dinner, so it was much appreciated by all :T

DH takes a crumblie to work in his lunchbox and loves them!

DS1 has been dropped off at GF's house for a sleepover before college, he's got an interview tomorrow afterwards.
DS2 - who we now call"the goth" due to his sudden love of black clothes and the fact that he's taken to wearing my long leather coat everywhere has just come in for the night so I'll have to vacate the computer in a minute.

Queenie - hope you had a good pamper night!

Take care all and see ya in the morning! xx

Off to town I go, Off to town I go,
Hey ho the merry o off to town I go. :D

The plumber just rang at 6.30  DH & I had a awful night. The heat is awful here in this house and we have one scabby fan in the lounge. Will have to get our pedestal fan from the shed and use it at night.

XDIL also rang ten minutes later, she slept in and couldn't meet the ferry DD is on to pick up DGS. Oh well, we aren't going in until 9.40am this morn as the earlier car ferries were too full. Someone :D moi left it a bit late when I rang up and booked. So its too late for me to bring him in. She'll have to sort it out.

Snowy & Pink An Irishman just won Australian Idol last night. :D Off to have a wee surf before I get my act together. Have a good night all. Byeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Glad you got everything sorted out dogrose!

I got my first till spit voucher at Tesco today! (isn't it awfullly sad that I'm excited about that). I also found loads of Tesco receipts from back before I had my clubcard, which I'll take in tomorrow and get the extra points put on :D

Also, a friend of OH's has got £400 worth of PC World vouchers which he doesnt want and has offered them to us for the grand sum of £50, which we eagerly accepted. We'll wait until the Jan sales then get a lappy for OH - sharing a compy is not conducive to a good relationship :rotfl:

And I just got my second star!! :T A good day all round.

    Hi all :D

Had to come on and post here because I have had such a fantastic day!!!

We went to the Xmas Fair at Whirlow Brook and got loads of food goodies - cheeses, breads, local honeys and jams etc for my mum's Xmas hamper. And we also bought some gingerbread men and some flapjack to eat there and then

Then we went to the Ice Hockey and our team (Sheffield Steelers) beat our biggest (and ugliest :p ) rivals (Nottingham Panthers) on penalties!! We had been losing until the last 30seconds of the game, but we pulled one back to make it 3-3, then hung on through overtime! Both teams missed the first two penalties (it's best of 3, then sudden death  ) and Notts missed their 3rd, but our last one was scored... by one of their ex players :T :T :j :j :T :T I never normally jump around and do the silly dances, but I did tonight when we won :o The adrenaline is still pumping, but my hands are aching from clapping and my throat is sore from screaming and shouting all night!

Plans for tomorrow: clean my poor sad neglected little flat!!

Have a good rest-of-Sunday... remember, Friday is only 5 days away :rotfl:

ps. Anyone heard from ageandjo or bargainrzl as to how moves have gone? Fingers crossed for them!

    Happy Birthday Twink.

    Pennypincher

So sorry about your friend - please do not blame yourself as you did everything that you could. We are feeling guilty that DH's friend has not had a funeral service yet and it will be eight weeks on Tuesday since he died. As we are not next of kin we are helpless!

Spent this morning getting sack of potatoes, carrots, onions, loads of veg from market. Also got some cheese and bacon from Aldi.

DH amazed we spent £50 - he does not realise that stuff will make lots of meals and that it is ages since I did a big shop!
He still expects stuff to cost about ten shillings lol!!!!

Had a nice Sunday lunch and finally got a chance to get on the computer.

Tomorrow I need to take DD (12) shopping for a new schoolbag - hers is falling to bits!

    Hugs to everybody.

I think the tip with ginger was to get a fresh root and grate a little into boiling water and let it infuse for a few minutes before drinking it.
