Morning All
Happy Birthday Twink, hope you get spoilt rotten
PP (((Hugs))) easy to say I know but you really shouldnt feel guilty.
Well yesterday went abit off track but was lovely. We ended up having to buy DD a pair of trainers because although I found her shoe it was soaking wet so she needs some shoes for tomorrow. We got a pair for £8 from Brantino while we were there it got to tea time so we took her for a pizza at Pizzahut. She was so well behaved and I felt really proud of her.
Today I need to get on with yet more washing and ironing plus batch cook some meals for DD to go to grandmas as the freezer is empty. I also want to go through the present box and make a new list of presents bought and what I still need. Tonight I intend to start my xmas card writing a job I truely loath.
Have a good day everyonSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
Happy Birthday twink. Hope you have a lovely day.
PP so sorry to hear of your loss. The death of someone who is young, fit and healthy (which your friend seems to have been) is always more of a shock but especially in these circumstances. My thoughts are with you and his family.
Well, our day out in Manchester yesterday was lovely despite having to stand for an hour on the train to get there. By the time we got there our feet were so sore we had to find somewhere to sit and have a rest before we could start the shopping! :rotfl: The Christmas markets were wonderful. The smells, sights (including a WHOLE roast pig on display that DD did not like AT ALL  ) and sounds really made it feel like Christmas.
I was surprised to find I had actually spent very little money. Did get a bargain on one of the market stalls. DD saw a very unusual hat that she liked and as she is going away on an outdoors trip with the school for three days I thought it would come in handy. The hat was £11.50. So I handed over a £20 note. Stallholder said he didn't have enough change so I took the £20 back and gave him £15 to see if that would help. He then asked me how much change he owed me! :rotfl: I said £3.50 and could almost see the cogs in his head trying to work out how much that actually was. Eventually he gave up and said "call it £10, love"! If the stallholder had been German or French, etc, I would have understood but he had a broad Manchester accent!
Today's plans are to iron the uniforms for this week, do the "nit patrol", check homework is done, defrost some chicken for dinner tonight, then put my feet up for a wee while.
Have a super Sunday. x"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Not had time to read the thread fully yet, but a few things caught my eye:
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Twink!!! Don't do anything that another OSer wouldn't do on your special day!!! come to think of it, with Nelski & co under that bracket, I think I have pretty much given you a free reign to do whatever the heck you like!! :rotfl:
((((((hugs)))))) PP - a friend of my mum's did a similar thing a few years ago. So sad. Please don't beat yourself up about what you could have done/said though, it's not your fault :grouphug:
I've been up for ages, but OH is still in the land of Zzzz's. Only found out yesterday night that I shall no longer be working Sundays as I have asked to reduce my hours to around 15 per week (i'm only contracted 10, but was doing 20-30pw and just couldn't cope with my uni work alongside that). Also I have a full weekend off next week
come to think of it, I've got a week off because of how the rotas lie, I'm off from this Wed to next Wed
That should give me some time to catch up on work, and to sort OH's 21st birthday out...
Plans for today are to change & wash the bedcovers, 1 or 2 loads of washing (not looked at the basket so not sure what needs doing!!), and possibly a trip up to a Christmas Fair at Whirlow Farm
Think we need to visit Mr T aswel.
Happy Sunday Everyone xxx0 -
Penny-Pincher, My sincerest condolences to you and all those affected by such a tragedy
Happy birthday Twink!!! Have a good one! Cheers!
Dogrose - my mobile phone contract was in my Dads name, but hes very deaf so couldnt hear the person on the phone if we wanted to ring up about something. We got round it by having me authorised to speak to them - they put a little note on his account saying that they can speak to his daughter, and I had to give a security clearance check (date of birth etc). Shouldn't be too hard to arrange with Sky
Load of washing was on last night (really must get a timer for that so I dont have to keep on staying up until 12!), and is currently drying. I really made the effort last night and did all the ironing (including the duvet cover), so am pleased I dont have that to do today.
Must clean and tidy the flat (didnt get round to it yesterday), as we have our inspection tomorrow. I picked up some beeswax yesterday, so can finish off my lovely mirror and hang it in the hall.
Want to make some mince pies as well. Hooray, I dont have to cook tonight because I made so much stew last night that we can just have leftovers today!
Breakfast: Granola
Lunch: Sandwiches
Dinner:LeftoversWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Pink-winged wrote:Good morning CM and everyone else to follow. :hello:
Just a quick post because I really should be in bed as I have another very early start tomorrow.
It's been a strange weekend so far. Mr Pink and ds2 went to London for Mil’s birthday party today …..I couldn’t go because it's my weekend on at work. Ds1 was to go to Dublin to play rugby, and dd and I were planning a girlie weekend in between my calls. The best laid plans……..
Ds's rugby was cancelled because the pitch was waterlogged, and dd got a better offer for tonight, so it ended up with my twelve year old son and I home alone. He was really disappointed at the rugby trip being cancelled so I suggested a takeaway for dinner to cheer him up, but he said he’d love to try fillet steak. He loves steak, but has never had fillet before because I simply can’t justify buying five fillet steaks.
So tonight I had a special dinner with my son.
Prawns in garlic to start, then steak in a pepper sauce, roast potatoes, asparagus, sugar snap peas and garlic mushrooms. This was followed by enormous (shop bought) chocolate éclairs. I think I may have gained a pound or two but it was really lovely to spend time with him on his own. It was worth the effort (and the expense), especially when he kissed me goodnight and said, thanks for dinner…..it was ten times better than any takeaway!
Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Wasnt too well last night and fell asleep at 9pm, so I was awake at 1am, couldnt get back off.
Gonna have a day out in Bury with DS today, leave the baby at home with OH so we can have some mum and son time, treat him to a posh hot chocolate as he calls it at chocoholics, and get some shopping done, I am making a breakfast in bed hamper for a couple in my family, so I think I will have a look round for bits to put in that.
Hopefully, by the time I have got back, the magic faries will have done all their work and my house will be spotless, actually, saying that, I havent seen them in years, not since I moved out from home
Other than that, and getting school uniforms ready, hopefully, it will be a boring, uneventful sunday.
Have fun everyone xxx
Lucky you, having posh hot choc and having fairies clean whilst you are out - my idea of heaven:)

Good morning all
Thanks to everyone for your kind words yesterday about my problems with bank. I was absolutely exhausted yesterday and my arthritis flared up because of the stress, but I did have the best night's sleep I've had for ages last night! Feeling much better today and going to tackle some housework and cook lovely roast beef dinner for my mother and Mil tonight.
Pink-winged - that meal sounds wonderful!
CC Star - ((Hugs)) Do you know what your son spent the money on?
Wanty - Have a lovely day with your son.

Blairweech thank you. I know its for security reasons etc, but its really difficult when most things are dealt with through call centres these days. Mum just cant even manage through the first menu to speak to a real person, never mind sort whatever it is out.x x x0

Happy Birthday Twink.
So sorry to hear of the loss of your friend PP, that is so sad, makes me realise more what a life line forrums like this can be for those who need it.
Afternoon all, well today is the day I will get motivated, done my list in the FlyLady section so fingers crossed I get it all done. Starting a bit later as have been spending some quality time with the boys reading etc first. No reason they should miss out is another thing I decided on. DP is out all day at an RC car thing so won't be under my feet or messing up the kitchen benches taking his cars to bits so I can crack on.
Decided to do myself new daily and weekly chore lists, quite proud of them and amazed at how much I do without even thinking about it. Ticking the boxes will give me the sense of achievement I need to spur me on I think. So here goes, time to get things in order.
I have soaked the split peas so intend to make some peas pudding today aswell for sandwiches this week, but DP did ask 'Why make it when you can buy it?' the penny really hasn't dropped there yet.One day I might be more organised...........
