:rotfl: Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 26th November. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Not strictly correct, but I hope I will be forgiven for starting the thread this early! Hardly know where i am at the moment, and as for if I'm coming or going, your guess is as good as mine!!:rotfl:
Everything is going very well ( on the whole) with DS2, DIL and new DGS2! DGS1 isn't sure whether he wants to keep the baby or not!!:D I've had to put in a LOT of extra time with DGS1!!!
I'm afraid a lot of OS has of necessity flown out of the window the last few days. TD has been called into action far more than I would have liked, but when needs must
Any kind of menu planning is strictly by accident, and I have purchased the grand total of 3 out of about 40 gifts!!:rotfl: :rotfl: But life couldn't be better!:D
I didn't even mind the one and a half hour call to Dad this morning!!
I have been skimming the thread, but of course I now can remember very little with any accuracy! Snowy, glad that your life is a LOT more gentle at the moment. Good on you for dumping your uniform!! Good riddance and goodbye!!
Aussie, congrats on the rugby, I refuse to comment on the cricket!!!
(((hugs))) to all that need them, especially the person who had to deal with a disturbed friend. I thought you acted with great presence of mind, and tremendous tact and kindness!! I'm not sure I would have been so calm, although i would hope so.
Hoping to catch up with you all soon,
Have a great Sunday

Well that was typical!! First time I attempt to start the thread since the sticky, and I totally mess up!! Can a VERY kind board guide sort this out, pretty please? Promise I'll never try to start the thread again!

Good morning CM and everyone else to follow. :hello:
Just a quick post because I really should be in bed as I have another very early start tomorrow.
It's been a strange weekend so far. Mr Pink and ds2 went to London for Mil’s birthday party today …..I couldn’t go because it's my weekend on at work. Ds1 was to go to Dublin to play rugby, and dd and I were planning a girlie weekend in between my calls. The best laid plans……..
Ds's rugby was cancelled because the pitch was waterlogged, and dd got a better offer for tonight, so it ended up with my twelve year old son and I home alone. He was really disappointed at the rugby trip being cancelled so I suggested a takeaway for dinner to cheer him up, but he said he’d love to try fillet steak. He loves steak, but has never had fillet before because I simply can’t justify buying five fillet steaks.
So tonight I had a special dinner with my son.
Prawns in garlic to start, then steak in a pepper sauce, roast potatoes, asparagus, sugar snap peas and garlic mushrooms. This was followed by enormous (shop bought) chocolate éclairs. I think I may have gained a pound or two but it was really lovely to spend time with him on his own. It was worth the effort (and the expense), especially when he kissed me goodnight and said, thanks for dinner…..it was ten times better than any takeaway!
Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

I'm off to my bed too! Goodnight all!

Well another day sat here wide awake.
Wasnt too well last night and fell asleep at 9pm, so I was awake at 1am, couldnt get back off.
Gonna have a day out in Bury with DS today, leave the baby at home with OH so we can have some mum and son time, treat him to a posh hot chocolate as he calls it at chocoholics, and get some shopping done, I am making a breakfast in bed hamper for a couple in my family, so I think I will have a look round for bits to put in that.
Hopefully, by the time I have got back, the magic faries will have done all their work and my house will be spotless, actually, saying that, I havent seen them in years, not since I moved out from home
Other than that, and getting school uniforms ready, hopefully, it will be a boring, uneventful sunday.
Have fun everyone xxxWork like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Good morning all
Thanks to everyone for your kind words yesterday about my problems with bank. I was absolutely exhausted yesterday and my arthritis flared up because of the stress, but I did have the best night's sleep I've had for ages last night! Feeling much better today and going to tackle some housework and cook lovely roast beef dinner for my mother and Mil tonight.
Pink-winged - that meal sounds wonderful!
CC Star - ((Hugs)) Do you know what your son spent the money on?
Wanty - Have a lovely day with your son.
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.

Goodmorning everyone,
Just resting between jobs. Having a cold glass of cordial. Just got back from the house and now I have to get all the clothes off the line, fold & iron and sort tea out. I"m having Breakfast Thatch
and I made some coleslaw with the [STRIKE]old[/STRIKE]fresh cabbage that was lurking in the back of the fridge.
Can I come to your house pretty please Pink?
Snowy I thought you bought all new pants for your uniform

CM The tide is turning with the cricket. The silly Aussies declared. Too early I reckon. So it deserves em right if they lose now.
Now if I was captain..........:D
Well hope you have a great day. No fairies around here either Wanty. Although DD is soaking herself & having a pampering time in the bathroom. Off to get another load tomorrow. I can't wait when I don't say that.
Talk later. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Morning all,
Off to a craft fair thingie today so hopefully may pick up one or two bits for crimble.
Pink-winged - lovely story about your steak evening. Sometimes it's so nice to have a cosy evening in like that.
Wanty - love the breakfast in bed hamper idea - no doubt from another thread here. I once managed to buy the teeniest, tiniest salt and pepper pots - ideal for something like this. Thing is I put them "by/away" and are now filed under "I don't know where..."
susiesaver - sorry to hear about your arthritis - have you tried taking ginger? This guy I knew, who was a sports injury therapist really suffered with his hands - I told him about ginger - which is supposed to be fab for this sort of thing and it really helped him. Worth giving a shot maybe.
Right, WM is on. I need to do some housework and air the house a bit. There is a charity bag collection thingie on Tuesday so I am beginning to fill that up with bits and bobs too. Must dash.
Have a great day everybody and hugs to all.
Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
