Hello everyone!
I hope you are all okay. I have been busy this week, i have finally received a date for stage 2 of the job interview which takes place in the next two weeks .
Also, i have received a statement yesterday from Nationwide for my ISA interest, i cleary did not realised i get interest in August instead of March, oops.
So my new total for my deposit is £37,011.05:j.
This would mean i will hit my target goal in my next pay.
Bye for now...

Hello everyone!
I hope you all are okay.
Well, i have finished my xmas shopping and have sort of stuck to my Christmas budget, as i have spent the money set aside (plus with the help of Mr T's points vouchers they were spent on my newphew and niece pressies :snow_grin) I have managed to do Christmas on a budget
I have signed up to the Challenge 'save £12k in 2012' may increase amount once i know whether i got the job or not ( will know by first quarter next year)
I will be getting paid next Friday, so will do a total on savings for 2011
:xmastree:
Merry Christmas to you all.
Bye for now...

From your OP your net salary indicates a gross of about £30k which isn't bad for age 28. In fact I'm envious as I'm private sector earning roughly similar (clearly private sector engineering jobs don't pay as well as public sector) and don't have the level of savings you do. £200 pcm living, so you stay at home. I must spend £600-800 a month (fuel, digs, lunches, student loan, etc). Used to think I was doing well with my savings until I came onto this forum.
Read one of your 1st posts - why should your friends be angry with you if you haven't got your first home yet? This is brainwashing IMO and none of their business. I bet by now they've probably lost money on their homes. Buy at the bottom, hold off for now (the housing market is tanking).0 -
This blog is very inspiring, thank you and well done on hitting the first target. I'm someway behind you but will get there, I'm looking for a 6 figure savings pot to buy though, I'm thinking somewhere between 5 and 7 years time for that :-)
We've both signed up to the same 12k in 12 months challenge :T0 -
Good morning all
Have read this thread with interest and before i go on all is well now.
About 12 yrs ago i was a dedicated saver and it was always one day
the family can go to florida, one day we can get our dream car and i will get my dream motorbike and then my wife was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer and all these one day dreams seemed as if they could not happen. 12yrs later after 2 lots of surgery, chemo and radiotherapy all is well and all the one day dreams have been done including the motorbike.
My point is we dont know what is around the corner, life has to be enjoyed as well. Life is not all about saving.0
