Then click "Register my product". You may need to give a few more details, and most importantly will need to give the code on the CD/DVD. Make sure it is in capital letters.

{SIGH} It's this bit I'm having trouble with. It won't accept the code on the disc, and keeps sending me round in circles (very slow ones because I don't have broadband!) Now I have to phone them - luckily it's a freephone number though.

are you making the mistake of entering the code on the CD as the validation Key ??

the validation Key comes via email after you have registered the product

when you run the CD from computer shopper to install , the first bit has a "Register" Button do that first to get the Validation Key, when you have got that then click on the "Install" button further down and enter this Validation Key at that point

when it has accepted the code and installed then there is a third button "update" to update the software to version 5.01

Before you can register the Quark product, you need to SET UP AN ACCOUNT at Quark's web site.

Only when you have set up a new account will you be able to input the serial number from the coverdisk.

Then they will EMAIL the validation code to you.

You will need both the validation code and the serial number when you install the software.

Hi Steve, once installed, if I reformat my PC will I be able to re-register it please?

    Hi georgiac

Quark have confirmed that you can install the version of the software on our cover disc on more than one PC, so if you reformat your PC you will be able to reinstall it using the same registration code.

FAO lipidcman: Unfortunately Quark cannot guarantee whether it will work with Vista or not. But if I was you I'd hold off upgrading to Vista anyway...

Thanks steve. I was more worried about being able to do a complete reinstall, or moving to new hardware. Vista will be a way off for me

Slightly patronizing but are you typing the code in the same case with no spaces? I think you also need to make sure that you've followed the link provided when you log in, rather than just logging into their euro site. Otherwise it may think you're trying to register an actual product that you've paid full price for.

How much longer is this edition of the mag going to be available in the shops? Can't seem to find one anywhere! Has the distribution ended?

    Hi darbooka.

Officially it's on sale until 13th December, but as you say many shops have already sold out. If you can't find a copy in the shops, you could try calling Dovetail on 0845 126 0389 and they may be able to send you a copy of the magazine and the CD/DVD directly. Unfortunately, it will cost a bit more than a copy from the shops as stocks are limited - prices are £10 for the CD version and £15 for the DVD version.

    Hope this helps.
