I emailed Steve from Computer Shopper as I could only find the CD edition at my local retailer and I was after the DVD.
Within a couple of hours he had replied: he is sending me a DVD copy! I have to buy the CD edition to enable the upgrades, which is absolutely fine. Well played, Steve Haines, for getting back to me so quickly and with such a great response!
Just wanted to post about it on here publicly...though I'm not sure how often he could do this!!!0 -

It used to be the industry standard, in the same way that Word Perfect used to be the most popular word processor. In both cases, arrogance and taking their position for granted led to complacency and a hungrier competitor coming up with a product good enough to be worth the pain of switching to.
Adobe's InDesign is now more popular amongst magazines and newspapers, as a look at the skills asked for in job ads will show.

Just to say that I bought the January edition of Computer Shopper today, complete with QuarkXPress5 (and 40,000 new ClipArt images as well!) on the front, intact, from the WRVS in the hospital where I work. So they are still available even if popular outlets like Smith's may have run out, and I would say - keep looking!0

Have just rushed out and got the Quark V5 from our local newsagent.
When trying to register it keeps saying cannot find server.
Have tried Firefox and Int Explorer but to no avail.
