Few supermarket vents

I'd just finished loading my shopping last week, it was a full shop so a conveyor belt full when behind me wanders a teenage box with an XBox game and nothing else. I was about to say "come in front of me" when I realised the tills were 90% empty. I looked at OH who looked around the tills and also gave me a confused look. He hadn't got the sense to move down 2 tills to the right where the checkout girl was sat alone!0

That really does annoy me because the kid knows that they will get an answer but it annoys everyone else with their constant "mummy, mum, mum, mummy" tone.
But surely it is the mother who is at fault here? Why do parents ignore their children so much? Why have a child if you can't be bothered to speak to it? If she had answered straight away, she wouldn't have had to get exasperated and responded in such a rude way. The correct response is 'Yes?' not 'What?'.
How will children learn to speak correctly with parents who speak to them like that!OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

Ah another one!
When you're behind someone at a till at a big supermarket and they've finished putting their shopping on the conveyor (sp) belt, and it's your turn to put yours on....however as you're doing this, you notice you need the shopping divider (what are they called? The big plastic things to show it's the end of your shopping...lol?).
Anyway, the shopping 'divider' is close to the till assistant and in easy reach of the cusomer infront of you, but will they get it and place it down? NO.
YOU have to lean over THEIR shopping in order to get it, and they just stand there looking and not helping !!!!!!.
REALLY bad when you're 8 months pregnant!
I ALWAYS put one on at the end of my shopping.
ALSO, as so many people have complained about this.....screaming children.
I am a mother and I agree, you can see the uncontrolable children and the parents who scream back at them, so I understand how annoying that is, but what about a child who is having a 'moment' and the poor mother has tried things like time out/telling off/talking/distraction/counting etc and the child is still being a pain? It's frustrating for a mother (me).
My girl is 7yrs, is going through a horrid phase where all the above techniques are not working, she'll carry on being naughty while SMIRKING (I really hate that) and in the end I've had to shout at her to shock her enough to stop.
I was at the bus stop with both my kids after shopping, and both were being naughty in there and at the bus stop and all you could hear was me shouting at them....I was now one of 'those mums'....or so it seemed. I looked like the type of mum who never listens to her child, automatically blames her child and looked like she couldn't give a damn about her kids.
I'm not like that at all, but I certainly looked like that after an hour of shopping with them both.
I was so upset with them AND myself
Everyone says our children are a credit to us, and it's lovely to hear, they're so polite, well mannered - most of the time etc, but you take them out for a day out or shopping and it's as if they've never seen daylight before and are running around mucking about and being naughty - not all the time!
ALSO, I've heard people moan about a parent who is ignoring their child who is having a tantrum (well done for the strength from the mum and dad:T) and people will moan at them saying 'I would of slapped my child had he done that'. However, you see a child having a tantrum and the parent SMACKS the child, those same people will say 'Oh I would have ignored that behaviour, not smacked them'. Lol, I've known a few people who have changed their view back and forth about this lol. Thank you to everyone!

I've noticed this as a 30-something man! I try and put a divider at the end of my shopping, it's the best thing. Also I move the dividers up the slider so they can be reached by those after me.0 -
Jeez, some of you are really harsh. Is it really fair to call people scumbags because they stop in an aisle to say hello to an acquaintance
I think stopping to say "Hello" is fine. Having a chat that lasts longer than 10 seconds after you've said hello is rude.
But that's by-the-by, while I would be irritated by such rude behaviour I wouldn't label them scumbags- you are quite right that is OTT.
But unintentional rudeness is still rudeness!0 -

Why don't you just politely ask "Excuse me, could you slide one of those dividers down please" - works for me every time . It's hardly worth ranting about. I also put one at the end of my shopping.
As for being pregnant - that's your problem, no-one elses. If you can't cope with a shopping trip order it on-line - problem solved.
Don't get me started on children in shops :mad::mad: - can't they all just be held in a holding cell at the entrance and let the rest of us get on with our shopping in peace :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:."Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

I do get really annoyed in any shop when people have to stand really close to me. They won't get served any quicker and I really don't appreciate smelling their own brand of smell!
I visited the M & S cafe in January and there was a very long queue waiting for the food. I was paying by card so I stood where the chip & pin machine was and there was a lady standing right next to me who didn't bother to move to allow me my privacy. I had to do a rush job to avoid my pin being seen. Grrr .
The Pick & Mix is terrible too. When I am on shift and I see kids stealing sweets, I confront them. They soon leg it! I swear I do more work than the security guard.
Come on, who gets annoyed when the security alarms go off and the security guard automatically stops you?
Last time some idiot this to me I asked if he wanted a pen and paper to write my pin down. He soon moved.0 -

When shopping my aim is to complete the task in the shortest possible time - it is not a social activity
I am not interested in the needs of other shoppers re - the "shopping divider" I do not put the divder on the conveyor belt for the benefit of other shoppers and do not expect them to place it there for my benefitHi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
