Real Life MMD: Should I refund the postage cost?
Comments

Sure the cost to you may have been less than RM, but he paid £5 for postage and it was posted. Seems fair to me...0

No you shouldn't refund the postage costs, ring up ebay's help line and explain your upset about the feedback left and that you delivered the item personally at cost to yourself, they may be able to take off the feedback from your account, also if you have taken the time, trouble and delivered the item I think the seller is really at fault, lesley0

No way - personally I'd send an email to the buyer laying out your point of view and asking to change his negative feedback. What a little s***!!0
-
He was happy to pay £5 to get it to him, it got to him securely, I don't know what he's complaining about.0

He's obviously a cheapskate. Left you negative feedback as well. Do not refund the postage he's TAKING THE MICK!!
Next time you list something on EBAY just mention that you can delivery locally for £5 to cover yourself.0 -

No I think you should keep the money as you actually provided a more efficient service for your buyer!:j:j:j0

The seller went out of their way to deliver the goods much faster than the postal service. They may have saved a little by swapping postal costs for petrol but this had nothing to do with the auction.
If the buyer wanted to contact the seller about free collection then they had the entire duration of the sale to ask the seller. How can they then justify complaining if they had already AGREED to pay for delivery by bidding on the item.
I would not bid on an item knowing the total cost and then try to wriggle out of paying. Only if the item was not as described would I contact the seller.
Keep on selling, eBay needs more sellers like you!0
