If buyer was happy with p&P price when he paid for item can't understand why he left negative feedback.he should be happy that he received parcel so fast and safe way.“The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them.”

tell him to kiss it. why should you deliver cheaper than delivery company? time is money etc. typical ebayer0

To the origonal post regarding dropping yhe sale item off
I think the buyer was out of order
If the buyer wanted to pick up he would have asked
If i paid for delivery and it got delivered by the seller I would have been more than happy ,when you purchase an item off eBay there's nothing worse than waiting days on end for your item ,sounds like the seller wanted to get the item to the buyer ASAP
The seller had no idea where the buyer lived before the item was sold .
If an item is local that I'm buying I will always contact the seller first and ask if it's ok to pick the item up Only as I would rather pick it up then chance it getting lost
I would also rather the seller drop my item off than royal mail for the same charge.
This is only my opinion as a large eBay seller and buyer

The fact that you delivered the item yourself is really good and yr customer shouldn't complain.(what a fantastic service you offered) They would have known where you were if they had read yr ad properly. If they were willing to collect to save the £5, then thats a different story, but they obviously wanted it delivered. He obviously wasn't prepared to collect and that is why they paid the p+p. I think they should add in the ads, cost to deliver item as well as p+p, that covers all angles, then we have no complaints.
I think they was wrong to give you bad feedback.
I'd complain to ebay and get the bad feedback withdrawn. Good luck

I don't think you can say that it cost the same to drive 2 miles as to post parcel - £5 for 2 miles? I would have been inclined to contact the buyer first and ask if he wanted item delivered and at that point either said postage remains £5, or offered a discount. I use e-bay and I have refunded postage to a buyer when I had miscalculated postage costs. I do however put a statement in my e-bay listings that buyers should note that "P&P costs include not just post and packing but costs involved in getting to and from the nearest post office".0

You certainly should not give a refund at all.
The buyer knew and agreed the total price he was prepared to pay and he won the item on that basis.
The buyer sounds a right scammer like so many on eBay who try to pull a fast one for one reason or another.
Its such a pity you, the seller, cannot now leave Negative feedback in return. I consider this is the fault of eBay lengthy rules and high handedness.0 -
I recently sold I child's musical rocket on eBay 99p with £4 p+p
It cost me £5 to post (my own fault for not weighing 1st)
Right the buyer sent me an email requesting a full refund as one light out of the 10 didn't light up ,so I asked the buyer to post back and I will give a full refund
The buyer woulnt post back as he said it wasn't worth posting so I offered to refund the sale price 99p as the buyer wouldn't post back
I knew the buyer wanted a full refund and to keep the item (£25 new in Argos)
The buyer used paypal to open a dispute which I explained I would only give a full refund on receipt of the item back.
The buyer with 12 feedbacks then told paypal be had posted back even though he had no proof of postage and paypal recommend you post back recorded delivery and forward proof of postage.
Paypal then gave the buyer a FULL refund £4.99 even though he never posted the item, when the buyer received his refund he left negative feedback
So I finished up with negative feedback no item and £10.98 down .
Just as the buyer told me to start with paypal will always agree with the buyer ,and also sellers cannot leave negative feedback for buyers so he can carryon doing this scam to who he likes.
I complained to eBay regarding this situation they sent me the buyers home phone number so I could talk to him !
eBay sellers be aware of this trick it stinks !!!!!
Something sounds fishy about your story as if the buyer did not have proof you had received the item back then PayPal wouldn't award a refund. Did the buyer actually tell PayPal the item hadn't been received and you had no tracking information for the package you sent?0 -
No way mate
your P&P charges include the packaging, the effort and the fuel if u are hand delivering it. makes no difference if you posted it. the other guy shouldn't be complaining in my opinion.
Did you know you can reply to all feedback on ebay? Just type in "replying to feedback" in the help section in ebay and there'll b links to take you to the feedback you'd like to reply to. It's handy obviously if a buyer has left you negative feedback and you want to put your side of the story on there for other ebayers to see on your feedback account. I've had to do it before when an ebayer left slanderous feedback for me for no reason whatsoever. also when an ebayer left feedback saying i never posted an item to them when in actual fact they didnt even pay for the item!0 -
And yes, it is such a shame that we, the sellars, cannot leave negeative feedback for buyers as well. It is the buyers that trya nd scam more than the sellars!0

No - leave an additional comment under his feedback using the respond to feedback button and chalk it up to experience! Ebay these days does attract a lot of wanting something for nothing crowd!! We ALL want that, but most of us are realistic enough to know what happens in real life.:)0
