Woolwich Bank Charges (merged)

Yes you can accept in part payment and without prejudice etc0

The acceptance form from the Woolwich/Barclays has a line which reads 'I accept the sum......in full and final settlement'. Do I need to cross this out and put in part payment and withour prejudice or write an acceptance of my own as I intend to continue pursuing the rest of the charges.0

Hi... Just started the claim process from The Woolwich. Sent the first letter asking for charges list, and recieved a standard complaints acknowledgement letter (and they returned my cheque). It says that they 'aim to resolve this matter by the 2nd April' which is within the 40 days... Does this mean they're gonna send my charging summary, or are they trying to stall?'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0

Hi There
I have just had the same thing from the Woolwich. I was told I would hear from them before 12th March. I actually received a list of my charges last week so they arrived early.
Yesterday I sent my letter off requesting my charges to be refunded. I have sent it to the Woolwich and also Barclays with my ref number on it as they are in the middle of changing over from Woolwich to Barclays, so I am not too sure who would be dealing with it. I thought if I sent the letter to both that hopefully it will be dealt with.

I am new to this lark and would apreciate some help!
I sent my letter claiming my money back (£700) on the 13th of Feb and received a standard letter from the Woolich saying they aim to resolve this matter by 15th March. I am not sure whether to wait for their response or to issue court proceedings as I stated I would within 14 days, which would have been the end of feb. would like to wait and see what they come up with but is this a wrong move?0 -
Hi!
My question / query is concerning charges which are still being added after I have submitted my claim online (through MCOL).
Our account went overdrawn because of impending £35 charges - masses of them, and is now subject to a £3 a day charge for being overdrawn - by the way, the Woolwich (quite conveniently for them) won't give us a temporary overdraft, so they think they're making a quick buck! We stopped using the account as we had opened a parachute account (with the Co-Op which I would recommend as they've been very helpful), and could not afford to pay off the charges. They have now put us £500 overdrawn (this is a combination of the £35 charges which were applied at the beginning of Feb, although we have now cancelled all d/d's and s/o's etc and also £84 in Feb. for being overdrawn), and we are having regular letters from Woolwich demanding the money back (we have written asking them to put a hold on the account and have told them we are in the process of trying to claim these back).
My question is, although I stated on our MCOL form that we were still accruing charges, and would want to claim these back too, where will I state what these are, and how do I add these into the claim??? Am I right in thinking that I do this when I get the AQ form through from the court?
Also, does anybody have ay idea of how long it take for these hearings to go to court - i.e. if Barclays / Woolwich defend my claim, which I'm fairly sure they will, how long can I expect to wait for my claim to be heard???
Any advice / guidance will be very gratefully received!!!
Thanks!
(I'm shaking in my boots now)

Hi all newbie here...
I have a slight dilemma as to who to send my letter requesting a list of my charges to...
The only Woolwich address I can find is the openplan one and I'm not an openplan customer, I have read through previous posts in this thread and seen a few people reply with "address the letter to your local branch" unfortunately I live in Exeter and my local branch was demolished to make way for a new shopping center...
Any ideas guys...?
Thanks in advance for your help and patience..

Interesting....
Just got home from work and this months account statement was there and there was a charge I was unsure of. Have just phoned the woolwich to query this and have been told that it would be refunded... Before the operator could finish her sentence of "Is there anything else I can help you with today" I fired out "Who do I need to speak to regarding getting a copy of my charges for the previous 6 years" the operator then replies with "I can do that for you now and they will be with you within the next 5 days".....
£10 saved... :T0 -
Follow on from post #65
5th March
Received acknowledgement of my "pay me my money" letter, dated 1st March.
They aim to "resolve this matter by 29th March"
6th March
Received letter dated 3rd March telling me my "complex" complaint was being bumped to Head Office Customer Relations Unit but now at Barclays.
Thanks to previous posts on this site this was not unexpected. Don't expect the 29th to have any bearing on it now Barclays have gotten it.
I'm sticking to my timeline as Martin advises so next letter goes out on Monday. Two this time, one to Woolwich in Bexleyheath and the other to Barclays in Churchill Place. No room for any confusion then is there???
