What happens if you don't send off your census

  • "The form must be returned by post as “soon as possible” after 27 March. The Government website says “If you have not returned your questionnaire by 6 April, a census collector may call after that time (possibly around the end of April) to offer you any help”. There is no particular deadline line for returning the form."

Surely the census and it's envelope is the same size for every household...and post boxes are a pretty standard size...I'd have not thought twice about folding it (but did mine online for ease anyway)

Post boxes are by no means a standard size - my nearest is a small one on a post which even folded in half would have trouble taking the census form.

As are the next two or three nearest

Now in town they have nice big ones......

I filled in my census form today and walked down the post box to post it off and it was to big for the post box so i didn't know if to fold it in half so i brought it back home.

If you find another post box with a bigger slot while you're out and about I shouldn't think there'd be a problem.

Hi, am i the only person on this entire website that has dumped this census in the bin the day it was shoved through my letterbox? It didn't have my name on it, just "the occupier" like spam, so i chucked it.

So I'll never get to know whether you get fined £1000 or, worse, you'll never know my reaction. What? You don't care? Oh well, never mind. ;)
