I know, my Tesco is about a 15 mile round trip each time so i'm noticing the huge petrol costs. But i'm trapped in this addiction now cos i need to recycle more to get my money's worth

The last few days i've done 3 shops in trip so that i can have the next day off but erm, still waiting for that day :o. Looks like it's today though with no vouchers :(

OMG, wow, and even more wow to those of you travelling twice as far!!! :T:T:T:T I have about 7 Tescos within 5 miles of my house, thank goodness.
I had an interesting discussion with a SA today. As usual, she had no idea what to do with the voucher and the woman next to her didn't either. She phoned for help. She had problems with the missing digit and the wrong time.... so I was there a while. She was chatty though and asked how I did the dtd. Had to explain how to input receipt details and suggested she gave it a go too.
Anyway, she told me it was about to be pulled as tesco had had no idea how much money they would lose when they started the promotion. She told me that some folks were making hundreds from it. I tried to look suitably shocked.
Of course it could all be rubbish but I can't see how they can carry on with this.

Hmm, another SA who's never seen a DTD voucher before but suddenly pretends to know all about it and makes wild claims about them pulling the promo????? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • my OH and kids informed me earlier that "tomorrow you get a wonderful day out, doing what you want to do". Going to every Tesco within a 50 miles radius flashed into my head. Apparently not, what I "want to do" is go to the zoo lol. ah well, will be a lovely day out. Wonder if the zoo do DTD at the gift shop?

For my treat I'm taking DD to Tesco to choose something for me. :D

While i totally agree with you, the thing that bothers me is that the link is being passed on to people who don't even use MSE.

So those people are getting all the info handed to them without giving us so much as a lurk here on MSE.

It's good that all the info is here in the thread but a bog standard bargain hunter probably wouldn't go to the effort which us MSE'ers would go to to sift out the information from it. Now they don't need to yet they get all the benefit.

Sorry if that sounds selfish and i really do agree with sharing the info as that's the spirit of the forum, but i have read of people passing the link on to non-MSE'er's which is what has swayed me to agree with some of the others on this.

Obviously I wanted to have it open to all because i made the first spreadsheet open to absolutely anyone - it was only changed because some !!!!! kept deleting the whole thing.

I think I'm veering towards this side, my husband told a couple of friends about the DTD concept and several responded basically looking for exact details and deals (he doesn't use MSE much so doesn't have the spreadsheet!!)

I think they'd happily to it if it was handed on a plate, but wouldn't make the effort to seek deals out.

    Re the spreadsheet.
I dont think that many people are using this forum/dtd to think about pulling it. I had another two shops today with SA's who have never seen the vouchers. I also met a friend and a cousin in Tesco who both really love a bargain and know almost everything thats going on, neither of them knew anything about it, but they do now : )

Whereas in I've been in 6 local tesco all within aprox 20 miles and in each one the SAs all seem to know what to do and some say 'oh no not another one of those!'
:) If you see someone without a smile give them one of yours, :)

:) It wont cost you anything! :)

I'm wondering just how many Mums will be getting After Eight mints :rotfl::rotfl:

I was planning on it, but she visited me a few days ago and saw 15packs in the corner, so had to explain why I had so many. Guess I best buy her something reasonable.
Still, for Easter there's the Creme Egg Egg (before Tesco reduced it); Baileys (from 81p-week) & Thorntons Egg to choose from :D

...or maybe they just don't want 2...I have limited storage space (I live in a shoebox) and also 3 cans of tuna will last me almost a lifetime...or I only want 1 box of pringles/kitkats because I just want ONE...not 2 or 3 or more...becuase a) I have guests/family visiting...b) if I have more I end up giving them away because I know I will eat them if they are there.

It really annoys me that I am expected to pay double so I can get a "free" item! Especially when I only want ONE...aggggghhhhhhh:eek:

Totally agree, the bogof offers totally discrimate against less well-off elderly people who use public transport. They have to carry their shopping. If tesco made their offer items half price, then you could choose to buy 2 or 3 or 4 or even just 1, because that's all you can carry.

    +1

BOGOFs (which are not really as the price gets doubled beforehand) really annoy me.:mad::mad:

:D I know, i'd gone through about 4 Lexmarks (the ones where it's cheaper to buy a new printer than new inks!!) until i finally paid £40 for my Epson 3-in-1, 5 years ago... Have spent about £15 in ink in that time. Highly recommended :p

Oh and my vouchers scan fine, only bad point is my latest batch of inks the red is poor quality (but i don't care)
