    Thanks Mac.....wise words as always.

I do believe in focusing on the good things, and getting what you request in return....which is why I think I have found these last few weeks so difficult...simply because I have struggled at times to know what it is I need to focus on now.

But it is a process that I AM working through - it is complex and layered, so needs time. It is emotional, it brings tears, but someone last night told me that "tears help refresh the soul" so am trying to see the tears as a positive not a negative. My head is still heavy, but not as heavy as it was a couple of weeks ago. So things must be getting dealt with and a bit more space being created. It is just going to take time......and I am not very good at patience!!!!!

So.....back to the here and now - I have booked a cut and colour at 10am.....which means that I won't get to see all the rugby. Gutted, but needs must

    Morning Hypno,

I'm liking the idea of sprouty pop art :D. Or, how about creating an advent calendar with a sprouty surprise behind each door ?

As to feeling all discombobulated about life, the universe & everything ... well, I think I lost my life plan back in my late teens & am desperately trying to remember what was on it. Strangely, there was never a house & husband part on mine & inadvertently, I have achieved that bit :rotfl:.

I shall just have to wing-it on the rest.

    Enjoy your today

I think winging-it is vastly underestimated, lula! I do intend to incorporate a fair bit of that. As Z said yesterday, expect the unexpected!

I also think I will buy shoes today. I can't afford them, but I feel an urgent need for some :)

And I'm able to catch the majority of the Rugby - will leave here half way through the second half.....so you only get to mind Johnny for a few minutes for me :rotfl:

    Morning hypno

winging it is my favourite way of getting through things, I try not to 'over think' things as there lies trouble. Just see what life brings.

Thats my girl! Cut and colour *and* the rugby *and* shoes :)

Hypno, I'm glad I didn't post a few minutes earlier - the conversation yesterday evening reminded me of a quote by Thoreau, but now its a quote from Scarlett O'Hara: "tomorrow is another day" :):):)

I think poor Johnny needs some consoling right now ... and I'm just the woman to do that for him ;)

Yay for more coffee, yay for more shoes - details please, when procured - & yay for winging it :j

ETA - see what happens when Lula consoles, we finally have some points :D

And about time too! As long as we keep that margin less than 8 points.....but looking at this game, anything is possible!

Keep consoling, Lula - you're doing a fine job.

Am torn between adding to my LKB work heels, or trying to find something to dress up my jeans. I had a fabby pair of wedges throughout the summer, but tripped up a kerb a couple of weeks ago (hadn't even been drinking) and rendered them unrepairable :(

Am thinking I need something mid-heel height, I have plenty of lovely 4" heels, and some very flat flats....but need something in between. Flats don't do me any favours due to my lack of height and extra width of thighs.....

Buffy, you always remind me of my sister. When she was 35 she'd been in 2 long term relationships - both of whom she thought she'd marry and didn't. She was quite depressed for a long time and then decided that for her 36th birthday she was going to throw a big party, invite everyone she knew - including people she only said hello to in her building - and declared this was the year she was going to meet her husband. She did and they got married 2 years later.

I do think there's something in the Cosmic Ordering approach of wanting something and focusing positively on it until it happens (see The Secret et al). So long as you know what it is you want....

The thing for me is I can't help thinking if I really did want a proper bf SO badly why on earth haven't I got one, I don't mean to sound arrogant here but I am not hideous or (that) bonkers, I have a good job, I smell nice, everyone else has one (well more or less) and so I came to the conclusion that maybe I don't want one that badly but it is so expected that even tho I have been fine on my own I feel I should want one. Generally I do have a nice life - I stopped the diary cos it felt a bit like I only post when I feel sad and that I was sort of going round in circles - not a true reflection of my life as a whole.

And then its on to the next thing or things, the studying, the job, is that what I want? what friendships do I have? what is my perfect day? where do I live ? How do I live? Do I have kids? Do I travel? and so on.

Two of my friends have recently told me that I think too much:rotfl:

any how its Saturday and I am off for a cup of a tea, and an imvestigation of the ironing/washing/underwear situation......xxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    I don't know what I want.

I am massively unhappy quite a lot of the time and keep telling myself to get my !!!! together. I try stuff, I go out, I have loads of friends and in that respect am lucky. But somehow nothing is working at the moment.

If I can wade in at this point Buffy with my twopenny's worth. I don't think we are really 'designed' to be happy. I think we are designed to survive.

Maybe focus on doing things that make you content and being mindfull 'in the moment'. If there are areas of your life you are really unhappy with you need to have some sort of plan of how you are going to alter that.

Like you I thought I would be married with kids but it hasn't happened like that.
