The sprouts will have the last laugh you know - one night you'll open them as part of a drunken challenge and discover they're delicious and you've been missing out all these years :rotfl:

    :jFFFFFffffffffffffridayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :j

What are your plans for tonight Hypno? Hope it's something you can enjoy :)

The sprouts! When you take a pic of them and photoshop them into a HM Christmas card, the sales will go through the roof :rotfl:

Hope you've got a nice weekend planned, Hypno.

Well, yes, Friday is upon us, and I am trying to use all the things I have been learning over the last few days/weeks to get the balance right.

So, first off, I have decided I am not going for drinks after work. I have brought my stuff in for the gym, and intend going there instead. From there, I guess I will go home and do very little.

Tomorrow I am having my hair cut and coloured - typical that on the hottest October day on record, I will be stuck in the salon. But needs must, and I wouldn't dream of cancelling. Then maybe to the pub to watch the match in the afternoon, and possibly a bbq with the girls in the evening. No plans at all for Sunday except a run in the morning.....and to enjoy the weather somehow if it is lasting

Re the tin of sprouts - I did think about making one of those Andy Warhol inspired pictures....like they do with the marmite image etc, and putting it on the kitchen wall.....

I'm sure you meant to say "spend some quality time with myself, doing what I want to do" there :D

I know, KC. This site is full of wise words!

So why do I get emotional just thinking about it all? Gah....I really do just have to let it go!

    Onwards and somewhere.....:)

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: Its okay. Its the next part of the process, where you can see the wood *and* the trees. I must say, I'm not quite there myself yet, but I can see where I will be.

You just take care of yourself today, Hypno. Step by step.

Love the idea of a poster of sprouts on the kitchen wall. Very funny.

Hypno, I stole a quote from Cecelia Aherne book for my diary. It is uttered by a character who is in, perhaps, just the place that you are now. On the cusp of greatness but not yet quite there.
    Onwards and somewhere.....
    is similar.
To new beginnings. To the pursuit of .............somethingness
It struck a chord with me because I knew that I was pursuing something but didnt have a clue what at one time. I guessed that somethingness is the thing that I wanted when I was still ME .......... you know before life started to happen and you found boyfriends, husbands, kids, hobbies to share with others, work, wage traps that all added up to stop you remembering what it was YOU dreamed of doing with your life. It happens to us all. Some of us just start to notice it more when our life changes unexpectedly. So maybe one of the essays you need to do when writing down all of your angst is, instead do a dreams essay, what did you dream of doing when you were little, what is it that really made your heart sing when you only had you to worry about. Easy to say but believe me, I know, hard to do.

Good for you to find a way to get out of after office drinks. I am sure you will enjoy the gym and then have a lovely pamper night at home. Another thing to think about is that, as your daughter is getting older, your relationship is obviously going from strength to strength with her and you will have some really fun girly times together that might not have happened if you were not having time to just be you.

    Hugs.
