Hi Hypno,
I just wanted to delurk and say a really big thank you for your post (a few back) but especially this bit:-I remember saying to XOH after he left, so many times, when he was finding things difficult - "it is not *supposed* to be easy" - If it was so easy, then no one would ever have a second thought about walking away. Similarly, grieving is not easy, being a parent is not easy. Getting out of debt is not easy. It all requires continual adjustment, acceptance that mistakes will be made along the way, and a huge huge learning process.
It just rang a lot of bells for me, and has helped me to realise that I'm still hanging on to an awful lot of my past mistakes and if I don't change that then those mistakes are going to impact my future.
For what its worth, I do think the chance to take control is a good thing0 -
Hypno, not sure what the chances are of you getting to Olympia next weekend but I just read this on the Free Theatre and Cinema Tickets thread and thought of you and KC.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Thanks MrsMoo - I already have a pretty full weekend next next week so will have to give it a miss.
WiP, thank you for popping up to say helloooo! Always nice to see lurkers surface
Gill - hugs right back atcha!
So.....today has been alright - definitely starting to feel better, and have got some stuff dumped, some stuff sorted, and some that now doesn't seem as crappy as it did a week or two back.
I've been to the gym, did another good hour there - that must be making a difference to the way I feel too......as well as helping with "Operation LBD"
Half way through the week too and only one more day to survive until payday. This is the longest month I have had to endure since I moved house, finance wise, and I can admit that I haven't enjoyed the element of stress. Even though I have emergency savings I can raid, (although they are still intact) the day to day stuff has run away with me this month and I am very much looking forward to seeing the money in the bank on Friday, and working out new budgets to go forward!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Morning Hypno - wow, you can start thinking of Operation LBD! It sounds like you're over the hump of this really horrible bit - tho you're carrying on with sorting it, which is A Good Thing
hope today is calmer for you.

Thanks KC - LBD season really isn't far away, so if I want to give myself the best chance of looking good/feeling good, then I have to work at it now!
Definitely feel much better than I did last week - some big stuff resolving itself, and other stuff just "let go". Becoming more accepting of certain things is making a big difference, but that needs continual work. I am doing a 10 min breathing exercise first thing in the morning and last thing at night, with the CD I got - just to keep me focused on the here and now. There is much work to do, but I do feel as though I have turned a corner with it.
And of course the exercise helps, the berrocca helps, the focus on eating a reasonably healthy diet helps.
A Good Thing, indeed. Lots of Good Things reallySuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I'm starting the writing exercise myself - I probably need to do it on the computer, sadly, because of the pain in my right shoulder and my fingers, but its still worth doing.
I'm glad things look like they're resolving. You're resolving them, rather.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sorry you have been going through a rough patch Hypno but really pleased that you feel as though you have turned a corner. Hugs xxNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Oooh "defined by what you do for a living". That's a biggie. I went from doing what would be considered "high profile" jobs to "looked down on" jobs when my marriage broke up. Partly because my self esteem was bust and partly because those kind of jobs were far more flexible and family friendly. Interestingly my ex was embarassed I was doing those kind of jobs (despite he was the major reason I was in that situation -ho-hum).
Back then I could tell you exactly what everyone I socilized with did for a living -nowadays I'm not really interested and my friends come from a far broader (and more interesting) mix. No real point to this ramble-just giving me a bit of food for thought about our assumptionsI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I tend not to tell people what I do.
I wouldn't really care if I did it or not. I can do what I do, no matter if I'm paid to do it or not.
