AF here tonight. I always find Mondays easiest as I go out to a class so no temptation (that being said I used to hit the bottle when I got home before I joined the thread:o). I'm out for a meal tomorrow but plan to have just the one glass and stop!
8AFDs for November and 1 for the SNC please Shaggy and Bearacus.0 -
Morning :hello:
1 AFD please Bearacus.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
idristhedragon wrote: »Saturday I went to Birmingham with work and am very very proud of myself....I was very concerned about drinking too much in front of my colleagues- my last Big night out was The Wedding I Cant Remember Much Of And Was Sick so I knew I really had to reign it in- especially with Scary District Manager being there as well...........anyway I arrived in Brum and we went for lunch in a pub and I had a glass of wine- I could have happily had a coke but one of my colleagues was going on about a gin and how she was dying for a drink, and well, I never take MUCH encouraging.... Anyway finally the evening do rolled round and I started to realise that this is, for most, a very boozy occasion...I went to get ready with some girls and they were drinking vodka- they poured me one and it was SOOOO strong I had 2 sips then left the rest- they were guests not staff and obviously on an oblivion mission- I was still so paranoid about my boss! We arrived and there was a free drinks reception- I had 2 glasses of wine and a diet coke and watched these girls I was with THROWING wine down their necks- going back to the free table and getting glass after glass. Its amazing how it feels to be watching but not partaking- I kept my feelings to myself but I was so determined not to be "p1ssed" and felt very in control. I also knew I had ordered a bottle of white for the table and the meal wouldnt be for AGES so wanted to pace myself.
THe upshoot of this long winded story is that I had my bottle of wine minus 2 glasses I gave away, lots of water and one more glass (I must admit it helped a lot that the wine was A) overpriced, andvile!)
I woke up yesterday feeling great, safe in the knowledge my job was safe (unlike a colleague who bought a guest that got very drunk and mouthed off to a lot of staff )
I then managed to polish off half a bottle of white yesterday when I got home :rotfl: BUT I am on track for 3 SNC this week I think that will add 3 to my Nov goal.
I wasnt sick!! I didnt feel ill the morning after a big night!! I wasnt a !!!!!! Good God it feels great :j:T Is that your "work's xmas do" over until next year?

My DH drinks every night too but I found I can ignore it. To be fair, he doesn't encourage me to join him. In fact, he seems shocked these days if I have a drink midweek. He's the same if he sees me eating rubbish too. He's become my conscience ever since I started SW.:)
He tells me he's really proud of me and occasionally says he's having an AFD but it rarely happens. The thing about him is he knows when to stop whereas I've always been an 'all or nothing' sort of gal.0 -

Just meant to say MissP, when you're lurking, hope you're doing OK. I think of you often.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
11 please, Shaggy, thanks.
