I'm AF tonight and no bells so calling in early!!:D

I'm delighted as today was meant to be a planned drinking day. I had the lovely meal but stuck to the fizzy water.

Bearacus that means I'll exceed my challenge on the SNC this wek (hoping for 3 not 2).

That's 9AFDs for November and 2 for the SNC please.
  • I want to join, if I may. I have decided to try to drastically cut down on my booze intake. When I get drunk I usually embarrass myself and I cannot be bothered doing this to myself any more. I started today, me and my OH went for a nice meal out and I had a "mocktail" of ginger beer and raspberry which was very pleasant (although more expensive than OH's beer!) Never mind, I am doing this to save face, my health and waste line as well as trying to save some money.

13 AFD and 3 SNC please Shaggy and Bearacus.

Terrible bells here tonight . I have eaten a plum and satsuma and that seems to have got me past it.

Welcome drinkupretty! I like your reasons for cutting down, they pretty much cover all bases. If you want to set a target Shaggy will be along in the morning to pick it up. This is a very supportive thread :D.

Thank you Chloris, my target is for 12 AFD for the rest of the month. What does SNC mean? I am allowing myself 2 days this month for booze as I have 2 v close mates birthdays coming up but was planning to alternate between alcohol and soft drinks so to stay more in control.

    Welcome drinkupretty
SNC is school night challenge Mon - Thurs; you can pledge 'the full monty' which is 4 nights or alternatively anything from 1, 2 or 3. Our lovely Bearacus organises it so just say what you want to do and you will be on the list.
  • Welcome Drinkupretty great to have along. SNC stands for School Night Challenge which the lovely Bearacus runs for everyone on a weekly basis. At the start of the week you can chose how many days you would like to be AF and then this is updated on a daily basis. It breaks down a month into small bite size chunks!

Rachel ~ great news, so pleased for you all

Bearacus ~ dont give yourself a hard time, you have done brillantly. :T
    3 for the SNC

Shaggy ~ 1 more for me please

Im hoping to clock up another Af tomorrow night but not sure if i will manage it. For the past few weekends ive been away with friends and family and this weekend is no exception, me and hubby are heading down to London for the weekend on Fri. I dont want to have a drink until Fri so hoping that i dont follow my usual pattern of 'the weekend starts tomorrow night' Will wait and see. Bells were ringing tonight but didnt get in from work til 8pm so had a bath and then came on laptop.

It’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts
  • 9 for Nov challenge and 3 for SNC please Shaggy and Bearacus.
My personal SNC is complete but I'm going to try for 4 as I have no real reason to drink tomorrow (other than boredom) as OH is away on a business trip so we won't have our usual Thursday night curry night at Wetherspoons.

Had some good news about mum yesterday, the liver specialist doesn't want to see her for another 6 months so that's fab news. He's not the oncologist though, so we're not quite out of the woods yet. Mum is talking about what is happening over Christmas, and I'm still quite wary about making too many plans, but will keep you posted. Touch wood, things will be ok.

Rachel I'm a newbie so I don't know what the situation has been with your mum but this is fantastic news, I'm so pleased.
