No xmas decs until December surely....What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Morning everyone - managed to get through last night without drinking. Thursday nights are always a challenge as they signal the end of my working week, so can definitely be a trigger night. Anyway, I didn't succumb so am declaring 11 AFDs for Nov please Shaggy and 4 for the SNC please Bearacus.
Might not be AF tonight........I have a full day ahead to spend with my 4 year old !0 -
Good night last night :j. Only the teeniest, tiniest of bells and I was really expecting problems as I'd been drinking the night before. Went to bed early so that helped. That's another 1 for my SNC please Bearacus and Nov's total up to 13 please Shaggy.
When I stopped smoking (years ago now) after I got over the initial cravings I remember having a real sense of freedom - freedom from having to take cigs and lighter everywhere, freedom from worrying at 10 at night if I'd enough to last or I'd have to go out, freedom from wondering if I smelled bad .... Last night I had a lightbulb moment. Could I end up free from that desperate longing for a drink?0 -
Morning all! I managed a pitiful 2 afds this week- although I only had one drink last night! I had rather a lot more weds night and was in a foul mood yesterday- really awful
Still not buying wine though which is really helping. I certainly feel more in control after joining this thread and I'm drinking way less, stopping before it's too late and haven't had a cringe/throw up/ hangover since beginning Octgo me !!

No more AF days to report I'm afraid. I was going to try to be AF yesterday as OH was away but DD knew I was on my own so decided to drop in with a pizza and a bottle of wine. It was lovely to spend time just the two of us and I only drank half a bottle so not too bad. She drank the other half and said she was alright to drive. She got home ok as I rang her but I think I'm going to have a word with her about driving when she's had a drink. It was over a period of about 2 and a half hours but that must be too much mustn't it? I hold my hands up and say that both OH and I drink far too much but we NEVER drive when we've had a drink. In fact I should probably add cab fares to the cost of our alcohol habit0
