  • Well done everyone for your AFs

I went to the pub tonight as my friend needed some support due to a bad situation :( and I had 1 small glass of rose and then 2 j2o s .
I feel really guilty but I knew I would end up drinking again at some point. The positive is that I only had 1 and stopped which wouldnt have happened before!
So it starts again tommorow :)

Fakeplastictwee- I totally understand about drinking when your on your own. My husband works shift and I used to drink when he was on nights as i felt lonely or bored. Try doing something for you to take your mind of it (easier said than done i know :)) Good luck x

Thank you :) x I have been at work this evening and will be tomorrow evening too, don't get in until 9:30pm so it's not too difficult. The bells were ringing when I got in but I made sure I ate tea and then they wore off. Feeling sleepy now so I'm glad I haven't had booze. Also means I won't wake up in the night which is good as I don't like sleeping on my own!

That's VERY good going, I wouldn't be able to do that. Alcohol is OK in moderation anyway so I think you should feel proud of yourself!
  • Half way through the month and half way to my target, so I'm on track so far! :D

10 for November please Shaggy and 2 on the SNC please bearacus :)

Hope everyone is well this evening! x
  • It's odd, If I am eating out I always have wine with my meal but when eating at home (apart from Sunday lunch) I hardly ever do. I'll drink while I'm cooking (a la Keith Floyd) and then again after I've finished eating but I invariably drink water with my meals. Maybe I should try to associate wine with eating; I would drink a lot less.

I'm the other way, if I'm out to dinner I very rarely drink whilst eating, just afterwards :o

Not AF tonight, did try, and had 2 sprite zeros at the beginning of the night. Then I had a few beers :o

Had some good news about mum yesterday, the liver specialist doesn't want to see her for another 6 months so that's fab news. He's not the oncologist though, so we're not quite out of the woods yet. Mum is talking about what is happening over Christmas, and I'm still quite wary about making too many plans, but will keep you posted. Touch wood, things will be ok.

Nice to here from you Mrs R, and I'm glad Baby R is doing well. I hope Mr R will soon realise what he's missing.

Bearacus, don't beat yourself up, you've been doing great for all these months, and your friend needed you. I'm sure he/she was glad of your support, and one glass of wine isn't the end of the world.

Hope you are doing ok Miss P

I'm sure I'll update tomorrow night with another AF day.

Love and hugs to all xx

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

It works doesn't it? I bought a lime too when I was at the supermarket, 30p and it's lasting all week in the fridge. I drink lime and soda from a nice glass with ice and a slice. I also find that Rose's Lime Cordial is worth the extra money :).

Sometimes, when I'm being mse I buy a bag of limes or lemons and freeze in slices. It then works as ice and slice in one.

    or eat a lot more!:rotfl:

I wasn't as good as I planned to be last night. I had the one promised glass with my pub meal then went off to a business meeting. Unfortunately the meeting proved very stressy so when I got home I had a couple more. Not excessive but not good.:o

Today was meant to be another lunch with a single drink but I've decided to go for the fizzy water instead. Hopefully my resolve will hold.;)

Great news about your mum rachel, best wishes to you and your family.
  • I messed up again last night and hit the red wine hard. The excuse was that I was at a Cure gig.

    Certainly regretting it now though.

This has been a terrible month for me.
  • Just popping in to say I managed another AFD again yesterday so 9 AFDs for Nov please Shaggy and 2 for the SNC please Bearacus......I've had a few bells this week, but they're not as loud as the happy person in my head :jwhen I wake up in the morning without a hangover !
