  • Thanks Bearacus I know there won't be any disadvantages to being completely AF but it's good to hear from someone a bit further down the line.

Happyshopper - hmmm I think I am just relieved that he's taken action! The Arteta signing has really caused an upset - Everton just kept refusing offers, even when the guy said he would accept lower pay (!!) in the end he forced the sale at the last second. So now they can't spend the proceeds!! :rotfl:

May2013 - we've all been there to a greater or lesser extent, just clamber back on the wagon, it feels like a drink is helpful when we have a bad time but it's easier to feel positive with a clear head the next day.

I'm not well at the moment, but haven't had a drink since Saturday and know I would feel a lot worse if that wasn't the case. I can't smoke either, might not bother with that again, another pointless destructive habit! I'm desperate to get to the gym and actually start achieving something :j

I'm not sure whether to set a target for September or not, I'm not planning to drink at all just see how it goes, but I do love the smiley faces and it would be nice to achieve more than one!!
  • Evening all, hope everyone is well.

Had a good bank holiday, stayed alcohol free & told a couple of friends about my problem with the drink. They were very supportive. :D

    Finished August with 28 AFDs

Can i set a target of 28 AFDs for September please shaggy, thank you.

    Hello all,

New poster to this thread here. I just wrote a long post and then lost it, so I'm going to cut straight to the chase - I really need to reduce the amount I'm drinking so I like to be put down for 30 AFDs - the whole of September - please. It's my birthday in a few weeks, but alcohol has stopped being something special for celebrations for me and become far too common place, so I'd like to celebrate the end of another year and beginning of a new one this way instead.

Will be checking in on here everyday for inspiration and support :).

    Best wishes to everyone.

    Hi Tearose and welcome.
Kity, I find that being AF really helps a lot with my mental well being and I am much 'brighter' if I am teetotal. Recently I have found even a little bit of alcohol knocks me back and I wonder how much of my previously melancholic moods can be blamed on alcohol.
I'd also thoroughly recommend giving up the ciggies - you've got a few days under your belt now.

I'm declaring today AF, so a good start to september here.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Completed SNC, 1 for September. Have fun on your break Bearacus! Welcome tearose!
  • Evening all.

Have a good break bearacus :)

I'm AF tonight, so a good start to September. However, I'm coming down with a cold (first day outside of summer and I'm ill already!) so at this rate it'll be an AF weekend too, which will be the first in a long time. For the last few years I've had cold after cold during the winter months, looking back I wonder how much of it was due to the fact I was run down due to alcohol. I haven't eaten very well over the last 7 days so I suppose that will be the blame for this time.

Welcome aboard Tearose :) There's plenty of support here to help you achieve whatever you choose.
