I hope the updated August chart is correct! Please shout if it isn't.
Stay Safe everyone.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Thanks, Shaggy. To be honest, I'm absolutely terrified now! I've actually just sat down with the calendar and worked out when I'm not working and when I could drink and 18 sounds like a really high number. But I guess that proves even more that I really must do it.
So, deep deep breath, sign me up for (gulp) 18 days please.
Good luck everyone.Clothes challenge 2011 £254.08/£500!!!Toiletries challenge 2011 Trying!:j:T:j0 -
Hi all 8 AFDs for me :j
Thanks Shaggy for your updates much appreciated.:A
Didnt expect to be AF last night but actually didn't really want any so didn't bother.
Today - a few drinks this evening no doubt and then tomorrow its a big fat sunday lunch with my family. With 8 days under my belt I am happy to enjoy a drink or two without worrying but actually I know it will be less than it was as I quite like the feeling in the morning - clear head no regrets
 Blonde Ambition - I think we were around about the same time last timeThe thread is really working for me again so Im sure it will for you too

I think you're really brave. AND you're doing it for the very best of reasons. Don't be frightened.
This is my first full week on this thread (and it took a lot of guts and pride-swallowing to admit that I needed, and still need, some support) - but the briefest comment from someone can mean so much when you're feeling wrung out.
I HAVE bought a small bottle of Vodka today (after 6 AFDs), but I'm looking at it as a "reward" for being good throughout the week and because Jasper-dog's blog is celebrating its fifth birthday today - a milestone we weren't sure we'd reach just lately. Plus which, I have found this past week very difficult. At the moment, I'm reasoning to myself that If I can have a small drink (not to excess) at the weekend, it will help me get through the raw horror of the week. Don't mind me though.
You are very, very, welcome here - everyone is lovely and no-one will be mean to you.
Keep smiling!

Hi NTC. Thank you. I think this thread really helps to make me focus.
Have just been on AA website. Some scary facts and stories on there. I thought they might have a forum but it seems they don't. Not sure I want to or am ready to go down that route. I just want not to be desperate for a drink in social situations (or on my own). And to know when and how to stop.
I'm really looking forward to being in control and really hoping that the detox will do my skin some good. What a bonus!Clothes challenge 2011 £254.08/£500!!!Toiletries challenge 2011 Trying!:j:T:j0 -
RnJ, thank you too. I have found your story very moving. Now, do you want talking out of drinking that vodka?! XClothes challenge 2011 £254.08/£500!!!Toiletries challenge 2011 Trying!:j:T:j0

Haha! Have had some - but only a bit, and have stopped now. On the plus side, I have just finished a press-release, which has taken me nearly all day to perfect. NOW, I have to find Jasper (who is hiding from some well-wishers) and encourage him into posting his anniversary blog wee-mail.
But I do thank you for the offer, and for your kind comment. Give me a day or two, and I will need some MAJOR talking-out, I daresay. But for now, I have managed - for the first time in ages - to resist excessive temptation. The top is BACK on the bottle.
Only now - typically, according to my general standard of luck, - my ex-boyfriend (am still secretly madly in love with - shh, don't tell anyone) has just sent out his new email address - and included me. WHY GOD, WHY???!!!
Is it me - or is life always this sh*t?
One day, apparently, I will look back on all this and laugh. Hmmnnn....
Keep smiling - even if it's more of a grimace sometimes....!

My life plods on without Alcohol in it and it is great.
Spent yesterday evening in the company of about 100 other people who dont drink, one of my best evenings ever. They were all camping,I have camped in previous years but came home last night to my comfy bed! Lots of children were camping and having such fun, lovely to see families reunited,Alcohol destroys everyone in its path, not just the person drinking.
Wishing everyone the best and a peaceful evening.:ASobriety delivers everything Alcohol promised.

Ah, that's lovely. Have a good evening yourself, Heath480. xx0 -
Heath480. That's inspirational. Was it a support thing for alcoholics or families?
RnJ, well done you. How long since you and the ex split up? Life's not totally sh*t, but there's always some around. But what a massive step forward you've taken this week. There's lots of things I want to change but we can only do it one step at a time.Clothes challenge 2011 £254.08/£500!!!Toiletries challenge 2011 Trying!:j:T:j0
