Has anyone any experience with blood tests showing raised enzymes?

I have pernicious anaemia and need to get my bloods checked every six months. Only my last check my doctor rang to say my liver enzymes were slightly raised.
I am due to have a retest at the end of August and was wondering would a month off the wobbly be enough to lower the enzymes?
Any help would be really appreciated.

    Good morning all!!

    Welcome Bad Weather!

Can't wait to hear from MrsR! I just love babies!:D

PollyM - sorry, don't know what those test results mean. Why not call your doctor or nurse and ask the question. I'm sure they'd be happy to check to see if cutting down on the alcohol will help.

Shaggy - please can I enter the August challenge. I have two weeks off, one of which I'm away on holiday, so think I will go for 20 please

    Miss P

    Hi Miss P

I know a lot of people won't agree with me, but I don't want to let the doctors know that the cause of enzymes was alcohol. I had had an operation and they put the enzymes down to high painkillers.

Thank you for taking the time to reply though.

Ohhhh I love babies too. I have GC no 2 on the way

    xx
  • I know a lot of people won't agree with me, but I don't want to let the doctors know that the cause of enzymes was alcohol.

Lying to my GP over several years about the levels of my alcohol consumption nearly cost me my life as I was eventually admitted to hospital as an emergency patient and given a 50% chance of survival.

    Good luck.

    Hello,

So far alcohol free month, so 27 days Af for me.

I think I'm going to go target free August but don't really have any plans for drinking just finding it harder to check in as often online.

Hope Mrs R has a lovely baby to cuddle soon and it goes well.

    Overall it's 78 days Af now :)

Hope everyone is getting on ok today x :)
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.

19 afd for me please shaggy. will be drinking tomorrow in moderation as I've finished my nights as of 7am tomorrow morning! Whoop whoop! I've got a reunion weekend with my friends from uni on Saturday and I've had a text from one of my friends tonight saying-well i guess we'll be hitting the pubs at 3pm...I must admit that I though 'Oh no...' I don't want to get in a real state so will do alternate soft drinks I think. I've lost half a stone so really dont want to blow all my hard work-and flatter tum on fattening booze. Welcome badweather-I'd just read your debt free diary last night and then you posted on here which was a bit of a coincidence!
