Hi Polly. Welcome to the thread. I can relate to what you're saying. If I have a drink I definately can't stop at just the one, and will end up drinking all night. I don't get the shakes but I do sweat in bed quite a bit, but usually this is the night after the night I've had a few drinks.
Got home after work yesterday to find DH sitting in the garden drinking a bottle of wine. I had said to him on Sunday that he seemed to have a drink every single day which he denied. Last night he polished off the bottle and said it didn't matter as it was only 8.5% and therefore low alcohol!
I didn't drink last night (don't touch wine anyway) so 12 please Shaggy and 1 for the SNC please Bearacus.LBM Dec 10. Total unsecured debt £41176  Nov 12 Debt Free Thanks Mum x RIP x

Hi All,
I haven't managed to drop by for a few days as don't seem to have stopped since end of last week!
Well I didn't have any AF's over the weekend, and was suffering from it monday morning, but 1 AF last night so at least managed to start the week the right way. Please sign me up for the SNC bearacus.
Got my stag weekend coming up this weekend, so definately not gonna be a AF weekend! Think it's a reasonable excus though:rotfl:

Hi Rachel
Many thanks for your reply. It's really helpful to hear from others experiencing the same things. Well done on your 12 days, that's great. After 3 or 4 days off the wobbly I feel 'normal' again and always start thinking 'pah, nothing wrong with me, I'll just have a couple.......'!
Rachel I can lots of abbreviations such as your 'DH', please forgive my ignorance but could you help me understand what they mean?
Many thanks

I think it's fair that you're excused AF this weekend. Is it a whole Friday/Saturday/Sunday stag do??
When my ex husband had his he was brought home by 11pm by the Bestman and my dad. He could hardly see, let alone stand :rotfl:

Hi Polly & Welcome
Your in the right place to find support from people who will understand when others don't.
after having the first glass I knew that I would not be able to stop at the one bottle and subsequently drank 1 and 3/4 bottles (fell asleep and the woke up to the last glass full and untouched)
I'll exactly the same - I can't leave an open bottle of wine unfinished or if I know there's more beer in the fridge then I'll continue until they're all gone.
Therefore I limit what alchol there is in the house, if haven't got any to hand then I won't drink.
Don't get me wrong I do still drink during the weekends but have found the SNC very useful in focusing on not drinking during the week. Each small steps at a time
Take care
