ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Good morning everyone
I'm a 45 year old woman and I am really worried about my drinking.
Until I got married 5 years I didn't have a problem with drinking. My husband likes a drink and I seem to have got swept along with drinking more and more.
I have got to the stage now where I can tell my body is getting dependant on alcohol but I don't feel I am (yet). I can go for weeks without drinking and don't crave it but am a typical binge drinker. For example on Sunday we bought some wine on special offer, after having the first glass I knew that I would not be able to stop at the one bottle and subsequently drank 1 and 3/4 bottles (fell asleep and the woke up to the last glass full and untouched).
Today my arms feel 'fizzy', my husband laughs when I try to explain it so I am hoping someone here will understand what I mean. I don't have the shakes but do sweat a lot in bed sometimes.
I gave up alcohol for the whole of January and wonder now why I ever started again. My life is so productive when sober.
Today is day 2 and I am aiming for 31 days AF.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes and good luck to everyone today.

Welcome Polly!:)
I'm sure a lot of us will read your post and sit here nodding. Your story certainly echoes mine a little bit.
Good luck to you today and well done on the 2 days AF already

Hi Miss P
Thank you so much for your reply.
Did you have the fizzy arms that I have?

I've had slightly shaky ones....like a mild trembling throughout my arms. Not enough to bother me but I knew it was there, sort of thing. Hope that makes sense!! I found this was after drinking a lot, and in a short space of time. Nowadays I try to avoid that sort of drinking. Don't get me wrong, I still drink a lot at times but try to avoid the binge aspect of it.

Miss P, thanks for that, I think that is probably what I have.
