luckily i did stop there as was woken up at 5 by ds throwing up bless him. spent the rest of the morning lying next to him in bed (he has our old double bed thankfully!) and holding the washing up bowl whilst he was sick................ Hope you are ok Mrs R and looking after yourself. Have you thought what you are going to do if Mr R keeps drinking at this level when the baby comes? A lot of partners stop drinking altogether for about 3 weeks before the baby is due so that they are always ready to do the hospital dash-have you talked to him about that? You are going to need his help and support when the baby arrives-have you got your family nearby so they can step in to help you if need be? I'm glad this thread helps you with your situation so keep posting.

Oh, I can't wait to be dealing with early morning sickness!! Lol!!

I have spoke to him about stopping before the babay arrives. It formed part of a conversation we had on saturday. More than once I have told him that if he has had a drink when I need to go to hospital then i'll be going on my own as I won't want him there unless he is sober. I not sure he thinks i'm being serious. But I have my sister and my Parents close by who can come to my rescue. He often uses boredom as an excuse, well he won't have time to be bored once baby gets here!

Good morning all, thank you for keeping score as ever Shaggy. 15 afd for me.
Lots of reflection yesterday about my families behaviour towards DS new girlfriend. I emailed them all and said that it was a pretty poor show - for those of us who behaved badly and those of us who let it go unchallenged. The responses have been interesting but have mainly missed the point. hey ho.
I was reading an earlier post about a book dealing with dysfunctional families, I sure beleive I am part of one, not just because of the antics at the weekend.
I think I would like this dysfunctioning to stop within the relationship that I have with my own children. the wider family can do as they wish, but I would like the members of Evolution Cottage to realise that there are other ways of doing things.
With the help of this forum, I have seen that patterns of behaviour can change. It simply starts with the desire to do so. I will be eternally grateful for this forum, none of my family or friends have embraced nor supported my changes, which is very sad. One of my friends actually stated that he wanted the old me back. That's more to benefit him really, as my changing forces him to question himself, and perhaps he is not liking what he has seen.
ah well, those are my musings for today. Feeling a little sad at the widening chasm between me and my siblings, and a little scared as I have a follow up appointment at the hospital today.
off for a morning swim to clear my head.
    Have a great day everyone.
    DM

Sening you (((hugs))). Meeting new girl/boyfriends is stressful enough without having to worry about how wider family will behave, especially as they are not supporting you in your decision to change. Don't let them sway you. You are doing this for yourself and your health. And everyone on here is right behind you!!
Hope your appointment goes well today

    Morning All!!
Actually have to do a full week in the office this week  First since w/c 04/04!!

Not much to report. Had another "talk" with MrR. Not sure how much of it sunk in. But there was quite an interesting article in the News of the World magazine yesterday about alcohol being the msitress in a marriage. I might leave it stratigically on the table if my words haven't made a difference.

Well done with the Moonwalk sumsup, under normal circumstances I would have been doing Race for Life next weekend, but I will have to settle for cheering on the SIL this year.

Enjoy your week off Miss P. Hope you have a productive week.

    Congrats to your sister shaggydoo!

Only 1 more AF day over the weekend bringing me to 11 AFDs. Just had the one drink on Friday after work, then none on Saturday, and a few too many last night. It's Sundays which are my downfall, and I really must stop it. Also the dreaded nicotene monster has reappeared in my life again. I would have been 6 months smoke free yesterday, but I gave in on thurs after a funeral. I'm going to go back to the nurse as I don't want to go down that road again.

Please put me down for the school night challenge please Bearacus.

Can I be put down for the SNC please Bearacus?

Mrs Rainman, Darwins Mum and Rachel good luck to you all with your struggles.

I had a couple of glasses of red wine last night. I feel awful. It was a complete sod it all gesture. Completely pointless. I am drawing a line under all of this. I don't want to drink again.
