Not posting often these days, but this thread gave me so much support when I decided to stop drinking and I thought of it today on my second AF anniversary (see sig).

For me, being AF follows 30 years of drinking too much and unsuccessful attempts to reduce my intake. I've learned that failing a lot of times doesn't mean failing forever!

    Many congratulations on your anniversary.:T

Hi everyone I hope you are all having a good weekend. I haven't been alcohol free-I had a bottle of white and a can of lager (what a classy combination) on Friday which was more than I had planned and felt a bit yuck yesterday. Last night I had three glasses of wine and then put the bottle aside as I really didn't fancy anymore which is a first-luckily i did stop there as was woken up at 5 by ds throwing up bless him. spent the rest of the morning lying next to him in bed (he has our old double bed thankfully!) and holding the washing up bowl whilst he was sick. By 8.30 he was right as rain again again and as chirpy as anything whilst I was a wreck-dh then got the kids up whilst i went back to bed for a couple of hours! I'm not going to be af tonight either because me and dh are going to share a bottle of red tonight as he is working away next week. Well done changing ways on being alcohol free for two years. Darwinsmum I think you are right not to beat yourself up about what you have done when drunk or hungover in the past. Maggiesoop I used to use my favourite tv programmes as an excuse to drink as well-my favourites were also the Apprentive, Masterchef and Come Dine with Me. I've now said no school night drinking at all because once I have a glass of wine all my motivation goes and I end up not doing all the little chores I need to. I've been watching the Apprentice this week and it's just as good without a drink! Hope you are ok Mrs R and looking after yourself. Have you thought what you are going to do if Mr R keeps drinking at this level when the baby comes? A lot of partners stop drinking altogether for about 3 weeks before the baby is due so that they are always ready to do the hospital dash-have you talked to him about that? You are going to need his help and support when the baby arrives-have you got your family nearby so they can step in to help you if need be? I'm glad this thread helps you with your situation so keep posting.

Afternoon all, thanks for your kind words Beckseven.
I have been replaying a few of yesterdays conversations over in my head.
Did I really hear one neice suggest to another to "just have one as you are driving". Former neice has just got over a 12 month ban, latter neice is pregnant and still has L plates!!!!

    hey everyone,
Back from my little break away :) Only went to wales with the hubby but really nice to get away for a few days.
I wasnt AF Thursday as I had 1 small glass of rose with a meal whilst out. However, that is the only drink I had :T.
We went out every night (bar/ restaurant) and I stuck to diet coke and hubby drank ciders. This little break has actually made me realise 1. I dont need to drink on holiday 2. I dont need to drink when I m in a pub 3. I actually am more fun/confident without a drink. We got up and out everyday and i loved it :)
right will go update the challenge - well done everyone and I will be doing a challenge this week :T
Forgot to say 11 AF please shaggy x

Well done sumsup! You must be exhausted. Well done bearacus for not drinking on holiday. I hope when I go away I can find it in myself to not feel that I have to drink a bottle of wine a night to feel that I am relaxing....

    Good evening all

Well done Sumsup on the Moonwalk!:T

Bearacus - glad you had a good time away!

I've got a busy week coming up. Extra hours at work tomorrow and then I have the rest of the week off. I am going to try not to sit and waste the day away on the computer:o so please don't worry if you don't see me popping in this week. I want to try and give the house a blitz and also spend some time with my friend who I haven't caught up with for ages. Really looking forward to it.

So, catch you all later in the week!

    Miss P
    xx
