    Morning, I have been in a similar situation and was paying the mortgage on a house that wasnt selling, the valuation was £220k and the mortgage £160k, but for peace of mind and my own mental state I accepted an offer for £191k. It was the best thing I ever did for the following reasons.

    1. No worries about an empty house 200 miles away
    2. No council tax / mortgage / bills and maintenance to worry about.
    3. Ex wife got all the money but good luck to her, its only money
    4. I can now put extra money towards my debts and start saving for a place that will be my own (again)

    I totally agree this is what im trying to do now just get enough to cover the mgt & fees so I dont end up even more out of pocket.

    I think if you believe the house is priced right, then you should ignore the people on here who say you should lower the price. There is no point selling the house for peanuts, just to get rid of it and then find yourself with thousands left to pay of your mortgage and fees. Also, we haven't seen your house and don't know exactly where is it in this country, so no poster is really in a position to say for sure that it's overpriced!

    Estate agents can be very unprofessional. When I was looking for a house a couple of years ago, they would send me details of things that were completely unsuitable and had nothing to do with what my specific requirements were. Once, I made an appointment to see a house and ended up waiting in the cold, outside the front door. They had cancelled my appointment and failed to tell me!!! You really have to keep on their backs all the time to make sure they are doing their best for you! Not the best when you are about to give birth!

    I wish you a speedy sale!

    Just a note to say all the best with the new baby and so sorry you are being put through a nightmare by your ex. He sounds truly awful and it certainly sounds like you are well shot of him. Would be interesting what his plans are, sponging off new woman? Maybe you should write her a little letter about what she is letting herself in for.....

    Hi Vicxzy,

    There is NO excuse in 2011 for someone to be screaming down the phone at someone else. If he does it again do one of three things;

    1. Put it down but not on the base and walk away
    2. Start singing la la la la la down the phone
    3. Say if you don't talk normally I am putting this phone down and then do.

    You DO NOT have to put up with this carp.

    p.s. I was going to suggest blowing a whistle but I think that is actually GBH particularly if you manage to blow his eardrums out - though satisfying!
