Just a little update, Currently I have emailed Consumer direct whos last advice has been we recommend taking the issue to a civil court and they have also provided details for free online legal advice?
The free legal advise isn't very good. I do however know someone who will do it for 60p. :rotfl:0 -
Wow! I'm a new member and have a bit of insomnia tonight so was having a browse and came across this - I'm certainly sleepy now, but had to comment!
Two things spring to mind:
1. Get a bl***y job Damos, Im assuming you have no time for one along with your crusade...
2. Stop being a victim - it's very unattractive!
I'm guessing my comments make me a soon to be ex-new member, but hey at least I'm sleepy now :-)0 -

I got 4 PM's Freddie.
I have pointed out that the way they keep going on, on here, about the money, there is little wonder they were kicked out. And because of the ranting, you do have to wonder just what was being said/done that night.
Christ, I've lost count of the amount of money Butlins has had away from me in machines that do not work over the years we have been going.
My holiday time is wayyyyyy to short to go ranting about the odd quid here and there lost in machines in the arcades.
And I still say that regardless of whether it was 'justifiable' then getting chucked out, I think the OP's parents were VERY wrong to leave them there while they carried on in the 'venue' (ie. drinking and gambling) if they are getting paid carers allowance for being a carer when the care is not being given as required.0 -

Used to do the Bingo Calling, Slots, Candy Floss and proper donuts when I was in my teens. Only ever had one couple win anything, they came every Sunday from Donny, played the bingo and collected the tickets for the big prizes. At season end gaffer had not given one single big prize away, but this couple had most tickets. Colour oggle box from Green Sheild Stamp catalogue went their way.
As the old boy used to say. Customers Must Enjoy LOSING Their Money.
Still miss the donuts0 -

Yep, I know what you mean. The only winner is the machine owner. I used to work in a bookies and the amount of young lads that would get paid on a Friday night, be in the bookies on the slot machines by 5.30 and be skint by 7.00 really opened my eyes.
They have machines now that give out tickets and the kids like playing on those but some people do put obscene amounts of money into them. Mine get a few quid to last the holiday and that is it. They never win those huge prizes they have on display. A few years back we won a 100 tickets on one of those and it didn't pay out so went and got the bloke. The bloke came over, topped it up with tickets and walked off and obviously, other people before us had also had the sam thing happen and the machine chucked out about 2000 tickets. LOL. They still only got enough for a present worth £2 in 'real money' though.0 -
