I did a detox and lost a stone in 2 weeks. It actually wasn't even that bad, thought it would be horrendous.Norn Iron Member 3830

savemethemoney - what did you do for the detox?

Let me see....well no meat, no caffeine, no bread or pasta, no alcohol, pretty much no dairy. Ate a lot of fruit and veg. For breakfast I had strawberries and raspberries, or a smoothie with banana and pouring yoghurt, or a yoghurt or some mornings I had scrambled eggs. I would usually have toast or cereal. I fond breakfast the hardest as I was usually still hungry, definitely at the start of the detox anyway. There are other things you can have, like muesli with pouring yoghurt (like activia) but I just couldn't eat that!
For lunch I would have soup (home made, no stock, just vegetables, water and herbs and spices) or baked potato with fake meat (the quorn fake mince is bearable if you make it like ragu with spices and tomato) or leftover prawn stir fry.
For dinner I had a lot of fish. I am not a big fish fan, but had oven cooked white fish, or prawn stir fry. No sauce in the stir fry of course, just prawns, beansprouts, vegetables, although I did allow myself a little bit of soy sauce. Baked potatoes had a look in. Fake meat (quorn again) but this time as chili with brown rice.
If I was hungry for snacks, I had fruit (again, but always tried to vary it!) or plain fresh popcorn, no salt or sugar, or plain cashew nuts (which I had to force myself to eat).
It wasn't easy as I love meat, but to be perfectly honest, it was not as difficult as I thought it was going to be. Hard thing now is to keep it off!Norn Iron Member 3830 -

Good stuff. I am targeting losing two stone in the next 7 weeks. I am 18 stone 4.5lbs (am 6ft 3"), but need to be 3 stone lighter. A fitness instructor told me if I was 16 stone I would be perfect, but can recall (it was quite some time ago!!) feeling great when was around 15 & a half stone.
I have a 36-hole golf competition in 7 weeks time yesterday, so need to get in shape to give myself a chance. It's gonna be really tough, but I am going to give it a good go...:) :beer:0
