quick update, still at slimming world, and through trying to maintain, i am still loosing.

total weight loss in 14 months 6 stone 8.5lbs

got to the final 8 in Slimming Worlds NI Woman of the Year :j

didnt win, nor did i expect to, didnt even expect to get to the final 8, both winners had lost 9stone:eek:

I'm not participating in this board anymore, since I gave into my wicked ways I've put on a stone :( But I was just looking in and could'nt go without congratulating you. WOW you are a wonderful inspiration. Congratulations and continued success :T
  • Wow piglet that is absolutely amazing :j:j:j. You must be delighted with yourself :) you need to change your user name to pigletnomore I guess....

I'm still plugging away too, pleased with myself because I've just a long and fairly foodie holiday and I managed to maintain my weight where I normally gain at least 2lb a week. I did exercise like crazy though :) I'm hoping to drop the last stone or thereabouts before Christmas. Something is different this time and I'm hoping to get where you are piglet.

How is everyone else doing?? Anyone else want to make a pre Christmas push?? Angela do you fancy jumping back on the wagon? No time like the present ;)
  • Come on, surely there's someone out there still giving it a try?? I'm down another 6lbs but the weight loss has slowed down a fair bit - anyone else on the countdown to Christmas? I said in September I'd like to be another stone down so that would be another 8lb to go - I'd say this is unlikely in 6 weeks but you never know!!

    Piglet how's the maintenance going??

Edited to say this is total distraction activity cos I just want to go and EAT something even though I'm not in the least bit hungry :)
  • Heeeelp, need inspiration, encouragement and advice, either that or a bacon slicer haha
Need to loose weight, tried SW last year but found the class boring and repetitive and if the leader cant keep her weight off i wasnt convinced it was going to change my nasty habits.

Actually that's a BIG problem I also have with slimming world, there are 5 consultants in this area, south down / south armagh, and every one of them are carrying weight, I don't have a problem with that.. I do have a problem with the fact that my own consultant could lose 4 stone, and in the 19months I have been at her group, she hasn't shed as much as a pound,

She actually told me they don't have to weigh in or go to group, I have a problem with this too as you are named and shamed as part of the image therapy session every week

Surely the consultant should b saying " I put on 2lbs this week" or whatever the case may be

All that said, I never would have done it alone, I went with my mum who lost 5stone, and we motivated each other, along with the support I got from hubby, daughter and my dad, the consultant was no support or motivation wot so ever!

And I can say exactly the same for every other consuiltant in the area

Ps I am still maintaining, I am keeping off 6 stone, and "playing about" with the over half, eg lost half stone for xmas, put it on over xmas, gonna lose it again for easter / summer holidays, and the lose it again,

That's how I plan to go on, I still go to group every week, only missing once in 19months due to holiday, I do think that's the key to keeping it off, again no thanks to the consultant, but to the others in group
  • Piglet you have just given me some inspiration to go back again tyvm I did SW and lost just over 4st but put it all back on again have now decided to start back next week dreading it but have to do something x
On the countdown mortgage will be paid off this year if I keep paying bit extra fingers crossed fully paid out by July :j

    Go you grumpysD!!

Well done on taking the first step,
I do think staying on at group is key. Also, don't leave when u get to target, its free!! And u can keep an eye on it, and also inspire others,

4stone in a year, is just around one pound a week, soooo dooable,

I went from 18.1 to 11.12 in 11 months, I was allowing myself 2 years.

SW is so easy, so don't make it hard, I never had to exercise any portion control, I fill my boots on free and superfree, big dinners!

What I do, is eat free all day, and save my syns for nite time, which is the hardest time,

Also I have take away every Sat nite, when I started I says this was meant to be something you do for the rest of your life, so I didn't wanna cut my takeaway out, and I didn't have to. What I do is I don't have the healthy extras on Sat, and just eat free and superfree til its takeaway time!

Good luck wit it all, I am no expert but if u want to ask anything feel free to PM and I will try my best to help

    Take care

    Piggy x

Been looking back through the thread and maybe all of you have been doing a better job than me of holding on. I made it pretty close to target weight at the start of 2013 (9.7), even dropping a bit more after that to 9.3 where I lost my bust entirely and realised it was too low for me :) I maintained for a fair while but I went on hols in June and had an incredibly busy and stressful summer and autumn. And the weight has gradually crept back to just over 10st. Too much booze and chocolates alas and my clothes are feeling snug. I refuse to buy new ones!!

Anyway the upshot is that I am having a focused December and going entirely off sugar in both liquid and solid form. I've dropped about a lb since I started trying and would really love to be comfortably under 10 stone by Christmas. Even 9.12 would be amazing - that's about 1lb a week. One way and another I'm making a commitment here to myself to keep going and not just give in to Christmas over indulgence and weight gain. I can't afford it.

If anyone would like to join me I'd love the company but I'll keep posting occasionally anyway just to keep myself on track :)
