You can NOT have two cards.

My OH has just got off the phone after applying the other week.

Already holds the classic, applied for the progress.

The advisor said that the application had been canceled as you can not have two active accounts.

My application was also cancelled (not declined). I've got Cap1 Classic for 15 month, no missed payments, every month I pay in full, 2 credit limit increases to 700£. Strangely, I was also told I can reapply immediately.

Something strange is going on then, I'll scan the letter when it arrives to show what it says exactly.

    Crazy aint it.

There can only be 2 options here.

    1. Not all call centre agents have been briefed about the change so some are still following the old policy.

    2. Not all Classic holders are eligible for both cards so their applications are being cancelled. Maybe it is only available to selected customers?

So can those guys with newly-received Progress cards tell us a bit more about their history with Cap1, so we can establish connections?

  • I have just finished a call to Capital One and have been told that I cannot hold 2 cards at the same time !
I called back and was given the following number.
    0800 952 5354
No mention about the other card although during application I was asked if I held any other credit cards.I said yes.

I was given the card number and customer service number, must be postitive surely or do they do that anyway?

My Cap classic has been in in credit and paid regularly ,in fact they have just increased my credit limit by £600.

What do you think? I was told that I should hear within 7 day and that I was to sign and return the form if

    accepted.

I've just been told the same, but the adviser said that you can hold two but clearly they're only offered to certain customers
