    what is not a poor choice of car? i've tried old cars, not so old, all is in many thousands.

    New male young driver + any car that is regularly modded = bad idea.

    So saxos, focuses, corsas, golfs - all bad ideas.

    What's your budget for car + insurance?

    New male young driver + any car that is regularly modded = bad idea.

    So saxos, focuses, corsas, golfs - all bad ideas.

    What's your budget for car + insurance?

    So you suggest me to buy a van? that's not regularly moded is it?

    As cheap as possible, probabaly 2 grand, maybe a bit more.

    Do you want help? If so, watch your tone.

    Try a 1 litre Ka, a Micra, or a classic mini (on a classic policy). I still think £2k will be pushing it, but you might get a bit closer.

    Are you putting anyone else (older) on the quotes as named drivers?

    I would be more then happy to go for classic policy, but I can't find company that will insure 18 year old.
