I guess, as behaviour is learned, that there has to be some sort of link with why we eat and the reasons why because there's something going on...... I don't eat for survival because I never get to the stage where I feel hungry.
Something in my unconscious makes me eat, why I just don't know! I am greedy and I do like the taste of food but if it was as easy as just liking the taste I could 'switch' that off surely because my desire to be thinner HAS to be stronger than 'that tastes nice'.
I can't stick to diets either, my actions always spoil it!

Even though I realise there's something in my head making me behave the way I do around food I can't suss it. The unconscious is so powerful. I just wanna know what my problem is!!
I don't believe for a second in greed, there's far too much bio chemistry going on, its been hard coded into us over millions of years, its very strong and very hard to ignore. It all to easy for these systems designed to keep us alive to get out of kilter when surrounded by vast amounts of unnatural high carbed foods.
The pleasure centre of the brain releases a reward hormone every time you eat sugars, if done regularly this can become addictive. If you feel great after eating something sweet and then a few hours later feel deflated this is what's going on.
Then if your insulin levels get high your body will crave carbs to try to bring your insulin levels down.
Thats why its important to get the carbs under control and for the first 2-3 weeks it does take a lot of will power as your body will fight you until it gets back into balance0 -
Lost 3.7lbs this week. I'm now 62.1kg
Less than 10 stone, yayyy!
I was trying to check the other information like muscle mass and body fat %, but body fat% shot up and muscle mass went down. I'm pretty sure that's not right, so I must have done that bit wrong as it kept fluctuating each time I went off and back on to try again. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I put my arms out at right angles and keep as still as possible. So I'm guessing that last weeks one must have been wrong too. (It said I'm 35.1% bodyfat today and 27.3% muscle whereas last week it said 34.9% body fat and 28% muscle) Don't get me wrong, they could be correct for all I know, but I really doubt I could have lost nearly 1% of muscle in one week. Each time I'd step on the scale to recheck it would say something different like 35.8%/35.9% body fat and 27% muscle or thereabouts. My weight would be constantly the same though. So I guess I must be doing something wrong with my posture or my hands, so for now I'm just going to be measuring that information every month or so as I doubt a week would make much difference. In this case I'll weigh myself the monday of the week that I'm going on holiday.0 -
Thank you Eric Pisch, it's great to get different insights and good to feel like I'm not a complete and utter lightweight that cannot resist that biscuit or piece of cake.. or two.
I weighed this morning. I have lost 1lb That is a good start for the week. I feel positive this monday morning.0 -
I lost 4lbs this week
I will need to be extra good now since clearly my body hasn't noticed the pizza or burger incudent from last week, so best not let on :rotfl:
Anyway, last week - walked = 23.1 miles and cycled (on my exercise bike) = 50.94 miles. A new week, and those are some pretty big numbers to beat. Doubt I'll beat the miles walked thanks to all the rain though...
I am very pleased about my 4lbs - it is the first time in three weeks that I have lost that much, it brings me under the next stone mark, and it brings me to a total of 25lbs lost in eight weeks :j0 -
the fat% / muscle% does get affected by a lot of things, water retention from salt intake drastically affects it, as does depleting your glycogen store which is basically sugar suspended in a lot of water stored in your muscles and liver.
i know with mine it does not know how to deal with all my excess skin (10-20lbs of it) so its bumping up my fat % because of it
its one of the reasons i visit a bodpod every now and then, so that i know exactly whats going on, will probably go again in august.0 -
under 19 stone :j first time in probably 15 years :rotfl:35 lbs to go :T0

New week, new (food) focus. I've already logged my breakfast and what I've brought for lunch. Coming out at cals:667 fat:25 carbs:80 protein:32. More carby than I would like, but it's all from fruit really, there is a very small ammount of couscous with my lunch (dry fried pork mince with peppers, onions and moroccan spices), and then I have a satsuma for dessert, and breakfast was a smoothie of 1 peach, 1 apple and 1/3 tub of blueberries. Think I'll go with homemade curry for tea (spices, onion, tomato, low fat yoghurt, chicken) and no rice, either cook it quite dry or have a little bit of hubby's naan bread. I'd welcome any comments on if this is closer to a diet that will help me loose weight, or if I'm still missing something. Only drinks will be water.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I start my training 5th July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which is lush, because it gives me time to hand in my notice, and have a week off before i start
Sooo happy!
I also have done two killer work out sessions! Yesterday my friend and i did every aerobic machine and every weight machine (minus the body builder type stuff) in the gym! Today i didn't do as much as i was still feeling the effects of yesterday!
BUT (this is where Eric might be able to help) Yesterday i had cheerios for breakfast, did that killer gym sesh and then i had a chinese soup, one slice of toast with anchor and a plum for lunch. Then for dinner i had fish, chips and peas (i know you're gunna say thats carby!) but 3 hours after i ate dinner i felt REALLY hungry, and i never ever normally do. I obviously ate too little in the day, but i dunno what to eat to fill me up without eating crapand putting back on what the gym sesh took away! Its so hard...i know i need to stop the carbs more, but i literally don't know what i would eat without them! Infact, i don't even know what i'm really asking you! ha

I'm still trying to figure out what foods to eat to replace carbs, not completely though
. Our diet is heavily carb-based. I can't eat cold food (salads) every time. We eat lots of rice (howbeit brown), ground rice which we eat with chicken/fish or meat stew or my husband's staple diet called pounded yam. All these foods are carbs. We sometimes have pasta, potatoes etc. All carbs.
We also like plantain. Carbs again???? Heaven help!!!
I either have shredded wheat or porridge for breakfast. Carbs???
However, my husband does not work out but is fit. Hot! Hot!! Hot!!! and looks incredibly young for his age (so flamin' not fair :rotfl:) If I didn't work out, I'll be as big as a house :rotfl:I'm under 10 stones currently :j but my carbs diet makes me lethargic and tired.
What else is out there - hot food wise?
