The pilates instructor did not turn up today at 08:30  She did not turn up last week either so God knows what's wrong with her!!! I had to go to the office to ask why and the manager had no idea (so he says) that she wasn't around last week either. He said he'll have to replace her. We were all sitting on our mats, shoes off, like lemons. It's quite difficult for me to get out of the house on Saturdays what with all the kids at home only to find she's not there which means I didn't need to rush as Zumba starts at 09:30.

Anyway, whilst I was waiting for Zumba, I went on the crosstrainer (so all is not lost). Fred, please record on my Eurovision challenge please:

    50mins Crosstrainer - 8.08K/5miles (522 calories burnt)

The usual Zumba instructor did not turn up either :rotfl:but we had the old one who was doing it before and she was fantastic :T:T Zumba was brilliant today - high impact and lots of sweating. All the ladies thought she had permanently returned :rotfl:

So all in all, a good workout day :j

I am losing well on a low carb, NOT a no carb eating plan. I don't count carbs, but I guess I eat around 100g per day, but it varies.

    I will post some menus

Breakfast Protein shake made with soya milk, teaspoon of peanut butter blend and drink
Snack Handful of almonds and a small apple
Lunch Mixed salad leaves, half an avocado, olives, feta cheese, olive oil salad dresssing
Dinner Chicken breast wrapped in parma ham, spinach and aspargus, 1tsp of butter on my veg.

    B - boiled egg, 2 X dark ryvita, butter
L - mixed salad, cold chicken, half an avocado, olive oil dressing
S Food Doctor mixed seeds, an apple
Dinner - Salmon fillet and stir fry veg.

Herbal and green teas to drink

1tsp of Omega 3 oil (trying to fight off arthritis!)
1 dairy free benecol yoghurt drink (trying to get cholesterol down before next doctors appointment, as I DON'T want to be put on statins!)

'Dairy-free benecol drink'? What on earth is that? Waste of money IMHO.

There was a discussion on Radio 4 'You and Yours' a couple of days ago about the claims made by some food products, the lack of research (unlike drugs, food has had little research to back up extravagant claims). It would be worth searching for it and hearing what was said. We were just driving around the isle of Bressay at the time (in the Shetlands).

There are 3 parts to cholesterol readings: LDL, HDL and triglycerides. So, to say 'your cholesterol is high' is a meaningless statement.

You do not HAVE to be 'put on' anything, statins included. You have the choice what you swallow. You can say 'no thank you' just as you would to anything.

An awful lot of rubbish is talked about cholesterol and people get hysterical, maybe needlessly. Just because Gloria Hunniford says it doesn't mean it's kosher.

plant sterols have been shown in trials to lower cholesterol :p

problem is 51% of people who get CHD CVD have low cholesterol anyway ;)

the danger sign is small dense LDL which the NHS do not test for even if they do a LDL reading :D

you need an underlying cause of inflation for the SDLDL to stick anyway :A

oh and if you do a 60 mins of cardio fasted before a cholesterol test you can drastically reduce the result

can i get any more smileys in this post :money:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0033AGBW0/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_3?pf_rd_p=103612307&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000RXWVVQ&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=1FB8B1G6PA852KWWEBGC

They read much more accurately than the old version which fluctuated +/- 0.2-0.6 every time you got on them and its easier to select the user

That's the same one i treated myself to aswell. ;) Can't wait to use them. Is it easy to record down the info such as muscle, bodyfat etc.?
