Hello to Tights! I agree, it can seem impossible when you have a lot of weight to lose. I have at least 3 stone, but I break it down into little targets, which are achievable, rather than think of the whole amount. Snap! I was so overweight that I didn't weight myself either when I started, only after a couple of weeks in! I lost 2lbs last week, which I am really pleased with. Before lost 6lbs so that is over half a stone gone already. Slow and steady also means that you are more likely to keep it off.
I think of it as changing my eating habits for good, rather than "going on a diet"
Ian Marber, aka "The Food Doctor" says to think of eating 80/20. Eat healthily 80% of the time and have 20% for treats. He has some good advice for sensible eating.
Paul Mckenna " I can make you thin" also addresses the emotional side of eating.
You CAN do it!
I am low carbing at the moment, which I enjoy! When I reach the stage of maintenance, it will be wholemeal carbs that I introduce, slow burn, low GI.0 -
Welcome Tights, it sounds like you are doing really well - 2lb a week is ideal.
Fred, could you put me down for another 3.1 miles.

Am I correct in saying I have done a whole circuit?
Almost - you're in Germany - you've 0.6 miles to go to complete the circuit :jalliwantistosave wrote: »I hope you manage to loose a few lb's too from the running around. Is it fun too? or hard work ?
Working on the count is actually good fun and it's very busy but there's a buzz among everyone working because it's so busy - the time just flies.
Mandz - I'm so sorry to hear of your loss - I've taken you off the challenge as requested but we're all here if you need to talk to anyone.0 -
You can do a half circuit which would be 8.32 miles or a quarter circuit which is 4.16 - or you can just log distances like polkadot and see where you end up?
Thanks fred.

Mandz, sorry to hear of your loss. Take care of yourself x
Tights, welcome aboardI know for big people, more than 2lbs is what they're looking for, but usually the first couple of weeks is excess water and poop then it starts to even out. As long as you're losing, you're going the right way. And also remember, the slower you lose it, the more likely you keep it off long term.
Fred, can you add a further 13.5miles to my total. I think I'm about 2miles into my second circuit.0 -
I haven't a clue if im in this, or anything but Fred, add me 4km to whatever i'm achieving
It was more, but i can't think of the exact figure, so i'll round down!
