Hi World of Tights :hello: welcome to the thread!

Minnie - I definitely agree with the 80/20 rule. I think a lot of people can be too strict with themselves (which is too hard to keep up long term!) so end up quitting completely rather than relaxing the rules a little. I've done it myself in the past, so now allow myself a little bit of what I fancy now and again so I don't feel so deprived!

Well I'm adding another 2.5 km, which makes 27.4 km/17 miles. I think that puts me back in Iceland, ready to start a new circuit.

  • Thanks everyone for the warm welcome - I'm looking forward to getting stuck in with challenges etc :j

While I am too late for this month's challenge I have been doing my own one (sort of). I have made a spread sheet for the month, with miles walked and miles cycled - last week I walked 15.03 miles, but no cycles because my exercise bike was broken (boo!). Anyway, yesterday I walked 3.07 miles and cycled 8.8 miles (in my bedroom, ha). I did, however, eat 265 calories worth of chocolate - oops! But I am giving the rest of my Easter eggs to the boyfriend tonight, so he can get fat and not me :rotfl:

In theory I think I agree with the 80/20 rule, but I can't help but beat myself up after I eat something 'bad'. It makes me feel rubbish physically and mentally, so why do I do it?!

I am also trying to reduce my carbs, but I just love them so much :o I am trying though, and I don't eat things with 'low fat' or what have you on the lable, I don't like to eat food that has been messed with - so eat as many whole foods as possible, and we have never been ready meal eating people anyway.

Is there a certain amount of time that I have to wait before I can go on the chart? I am hoping that it would be a good incentive to be on it :)

    Thanks!

Hi all, thanks for your posts. My mum and grandma should be able to collect my grandads death certificate after 3pm today so hopefully it will answer our big question of how he actually went. He was only in hospital for a broken hip, but the nurse said it MIGHT have been a heart attack. But hopefully we will find out. He was 89 (would have been 90 in nov).
I wont be weighing in this week as really not feeling it, all i ate yesterday was half a bowl of soup with 1 slice of bread and 2 small slices of pizza. Today, so far i have had a cup of tea. may try and stomach some tomato soup for lunch. Hopefully i will weigh in next week, but i will see how much time i have to actually do it. With birthdays coming up and planning a funeral, i dont know if i will have time.
Glad your all still doing well though, and i will keep popping back in when i can. xx

Foodwise - I have been rubbish last few weeks (even more than rubbish actually) but I weighed myself this morning and the damage is 5.4lbs up which is not actually that bad for me. Hope to lose it again in the next 3 weeks. I do seem to gain and lose than same 5 lbs at the moment - oh well!

Exercise wise - doing ok. Still aiming for 2 zumbas and 2 gyms sessions a week.

Clocked up a total of 6.25km of running for the challenge this week please - aiming for the single circuit (or poss double depending on how it goes).

So a bit of mixed news for me.

Turned 20 today waheyy :) I don't celebrate birthdays so didn't do anything spexial.

My aunt's due date is next week monday, but she's currently in the latter stages. My uncle is currently away and has asked me to stay over there from tomorrow until the end of this week as he'll be back with her on monday. This week is supposed to be my last week on Insanity and I'm supposed to be doing a hybrid of P90x & Insanity from next week (so P90x one week, Insanity the other and so on). But staying over at my aunts would mean no exercise at all for 5 days. I don't think I've ever gone that long without exercise ever since I restarted. And that would mean 5 days off the Insanity calendar, and with it being the last week and all, missing 5 important workout sessions. So now I'm thinking, do I repeat this week next week, or I do go on with P90x and try to fit in the missed workout sessions? ARGHH. I mean no disrespect to my aunt as I love her to bits and can't wait for the baby to arrive, but I'd be lying if I said that this didn't come at the worst possible time for me. Honestly have no idea what to do especially as it's the last week of Insanity.
5 days without exercise would also affect weight loss results. Think i might have to go basic and job on the spot for 30mins on each of the 5 days just so im getting some form of exercise. :(

    What would everyone else do?

First of all, happy birthday girlie (you've now officially left the teens) :bdaycake:

I would personally take my laptop with me and continue with my Insanity workout :rotfl:Seriously though, we were planning to take the kids away over the Easter holiday and I was planning to take the laptop so I can continue the programme. Fortunately :rotfl:, all the hotels were fully booked :D
